a new gameboy advance game by metal gear and snatcher's
hideo kojima. i think it released it on the 16th. has
anyone played it? i believe you have to take the gameboy out
in the sun to store sunlight power to fight the vampires in
the game...

And how exactly does the gameboy register the light levels?

This explains it...

With a solar sensor being incorporated right into the
cartridge, the game will be able to discern just how much
natural sunlight the GBA is being exposed to, affecting the
strengths and weaknesses of the vampires and Django.
Players will even be able to blast off a “solar gun”
that stores up the solar energy stored up, pummeling some
enemies. Even more interesting is that certain enemies in
Boktai can only be defeated when players are playing in the
sunlight.

sounds cool, different anyway. But wouldn't there me a bit
too much glare if you played in strong sunshine?

couldn't you just play under a bright light?

Well you're fucked if you own the old Gameboy Advance as
that screen only shows up underwater

What happens if you are allergic to natural light? I can
feel a law suit coming on...

That game looks interesting, but I never go out into the sun
so I can't beat it. And I don't know how they could emulate
THAT feature...

And it doesn't detect any bright light, only solar... it
KNOWS if you're tricking it. It's the rise of the machines.

The game definitely looks interesting.

Now go out and get Final Fantasy Tactics Advance!

for the past week, i've been trying to play gameboy color on
the bus...

i find that if i dont get the right amount of light, its
totally off and blurry...

but when i get the right light, i only tend to see my own
relfection...

or am i merely vain.
