just downloaded it, and the sound quality is a 100 times
better than the original rip. the folder (soulseek) even
included a .txt file:

"I remastered these old bootleg recordings, they deserve to
be heard
in the original sound quality, while also being mastered for
the digital age. i think you will find these selections to
be of finest sound quality, possably like hearing again for
the first time. =)"

get 'em.

Everyone must get this... and delete your old copy!!!

This is a very very impressive remastering. Sounds very
rich (no pun intended), and ofcourse.. LOUD! :)))

This was posted in a electronic newsgroup a long time ago
along with his "remastered" version of DrukQs. Eenjoyed his
MfM but flamed him for DrukQs.

Alot of people flamed him for what he did to drukqs, is what
I ment to say.

offline JAroen from the pineal gland on 2003-09-07 05:14 [#00853645]
Points: 16065 Status: Regular

huh.. remastered drukqs?

sounds pretty useless to me...

offline Braindancecandy from United States on 2003-09-07 05:16 [#00853647]
Points: 93 Status: Lurker

Well what he said was he did it to make it sound like what
he wanted it to sound. That offended a lot of people I
guess.

offline E-man from Rixensart (Belgium) on 2003-09-07 05:19 [#00853653]

was it better sounding?, i guess not...
id'like to hear what he did to some songs...

offline Braindancecandy from United States on 2003-09-07 05:21 [#00853654]
Points: 93 Status: Lurker

I didnt download it, so I cant say if it did sound better or
not. If I recall what he posted in his .txt about it was
something along the lines of boosting the lesser heard
sounds in the background and such.

Now that I remeber it, I should downloaded it for shits and
grins but oh well.

:D
re-mastering drukQs without the masters and a lot of good
hearing/skills musn't be that great of a result...

offline JAroen from the pineal gland on 2003-09-07 05:25 [#00853656]
Points: 16065 Status: Regular

.. well if rdj wanted it to sound that way im sure he would
have compensated that while mastering...

or did he remaster em the way HE wanted them to sound?

Well this guy did a good job on this MFM cassette/bootleg.
So I reckon he knows what he's doing! :)

I'd like to get a hold of this.

I saw someone had named the tracks on soulseek. I thought
all but two (Fingerbib, Logon Rock Witch) were unnamed. Are
these made up?

Elastic Ballroom, Barcelona Beds, Waitingroom Lizard, Lena
Plaat Shrooms etc.

pdt hooked me up with some pretty good quality MfM, but, i
didn't hear anything about them being remastered.

if these are better quality than what he had i'd freakin'
love to have em.

MfM is some of my favorite rdj

Wow! I love Melodies from Mars, reminds me of the Earthbound
soundtrack (though not quite as good). I gotta hear this
''newer/better/sleeker/sexier'' MfMars as soon as possible.

Hmm, definitely an improvement in sound quality. But the
first track is full of skips and glitches.
