A couple of my mates and i have been "jamming" together for
a few months. the track is called 'LoveLong' and it's right
here

we are aiming for an IDM / hippie rock / jam-band sound..
sort of.

so whadda ya think?

very good except for the guitar at the beginning and end.
Very annoying melody-wise, it could also use some effects.
Other than that, it has a very nice feel and groove.

thanks for the comment. it's sort of a rough jam. none of
the guitar or bass lines were really planned ahead of time.
we just turn on the drum machine (so to speak) and improvise
the guitar and 2 bass parts. then i went over it at the
end, added some breaks, adjusted the levels and added a
smidgen of effects.

its pretty raw other than that.

I actually like the clear guitar sound. I don't like the
sample though. Good beats with a nice drum sound. Overall,
I dig the mix of jammy guitars, funky bass, and beats.

I'm pretty sure "Song" is spelled with an "S", not an "L".

It's not too bad at all :) I like the scratching stuff in
the middle. It is very atmospheric. Sort of like a live
MHTRTC track. It gives me a very similar feeling. I
actually like the melody. In fact I really really like this
song. I really do.

My thoughts on "LoveBong": I suppose the beginning lyrics
and washing noise were a fairly successful combination at
inducing a relaxed feeling in the mind, although it would
have been cool if these lyrics had a cartoon character like
lisp or something. Plus super weird abstract audio symmetry
makes my mind more relaxed than lyrics usually. One album I
remember that sort of talks to the listener like this is
"the eyes of stanley pain". The first track on that album
totally tries to get into the listener's subconscious with
lyrics and was quite successful imo. It sounded good for
live-ish stuff, but usually I'm not very interested in
live-ish stuff. The 2nd lyrics were great because they were
unique. Sorta of like this one French hip hop album I heard
on soulseek, heh heh, only yours was like... a redneck or
someone.

the 'relax' sample is actually taken from a self hypnosis
record my mate has. It is supposed to help your breasts
grow large. it has had no effect on my breasts however
after repeated listens.

anyway, thanks for the comments. that's five, so as i
promised, i will stop bumping this thread....now
