This is supposed to drop on 20th October 2003. Is it just a
CD release, what happened to the DVD Warp wanted to put out?

Hmm, dunno. Is that the album, or an EP? Do the Warp numbers
change if there's a dvd included? At least it's some news,
nice one :D

If it is WARPCD114 then it is an album because EP's and
singles are WAPCDxxx, albums are WARPCDxxx

there?

I mean it goes: 105, 106, 110

where are 107, 108 and 109?

Warpmart used to have a few Plaid t-shirts, including a
girly one. I can't find em now for some reason

nacmat check that page again.
what's silly is that Confield is WARP128 and Draft 7.30 is
WARP110 even though it was released two years later.

actually draft is 111

so whats the answer?

offline xceque on 2003-07-20 06:39 [#00787156]

107 is the new Chris Clark and 108 is a re-issue of Car
Paint Scheme by Req. Don't know what 109 is yet.

I suspect that the numbers are allocated some time during
the process from album completion to release, and they're
not completely in order due to any number of variables like
paperwork/licensing issues to printing delays and so on.

offline xceque on 2003-07-20 06:45 [#00787158]

Satanstornade is 666 for the "amusement" factor of having
someting noisily satanic associated with the number 666, and
Confield being 128... well God knows why. Autechre's choice?
In line with some crazy scheme the cheeky chaps have cooked
up between themselves.
Twoism was 70 probably cos of Music70, and cos the number
had been previously intended for a WARP10+4 DVD compilation,
apparently, which was apparently aborted.

112 is the new Luke Vibert album and there probably won't be
a 113 for the same reason there's no WAP113 or WARP13.

What I want to know is what's WARP99 and WARP93. And can I
have copies :D

i think confield is 128 because of something to do with the
amounbt of polyphony that comes with cutting edge synths and
VI's.

I could be wrong

If you double 2 six times you get 128, and Confield was
their sixth album....I'll get me coat... ;-)

Gantz Graf was WAP256. I suppose it's a hilarious
reference to the futuristic sounds of Autechre's work.

I wonder what the music on Warp will sound like when/if they
get round to releasing WAP257 etc.

256 = 2^8. Gantz Graf was their 8th EP.

If they carry on with that convention, they're either going
to have to stop releasing records or write smaller on the
CDs

It's been confirmed that this is just an old fashioned CD
release.

There may be single release with a dvd on, or an exclusive
dvd release, in
the next few months.

Warpmart will be giving away an exclusive Plaid mix with all
orders of the
new album later in the summer.

I was too gutted to respond to martin's post when I read it.

I was hoping this was going to be some sort of real
breakthrough release, technically. Oh well :( Hopefully the
choons will be enough.

That's what I mean - so is it junked or postponed or only to
be partially released or what? Guess we'll find out
eventually.
