Was your mix rejected?
Tell your sad story here! and if you aren't too embarrased,
post a link to your track.

i think some one else stole my idea. i said i might do a
jungle/breakcore remix of stud
and someone did a tech step version. not very good me
thinks. i don't have it up, maybe in a few days.

I'll start.

I realize now that the levels in my mix were all f'd up.
the bass is too high and the overall volume is too low.
*shrug* sounds good when i listen to it at home but i was
listening to it again in my car and realizing that i should
have spent more time mastering it. It's not online yet but
i'll post a link when it is.

we suck! Live to play another day and all that shit.

I think phobs wants us to wait for the voting on the
finalists to be completed before doing this...

perhaps, though i've asked and got no reply. anyway, if you
haven't qualified, you can't be disqualified right? so what
have you got to lose? Unless you feel you are a runner-up
and might be spontaneously qualified in the unlikely event
of a disqualification.

...i dont think this takes focus off the finalists... this
is more like... you've tried the best... now try the
rest...

all this is being based on phobe closing zeus' 'losing
entry' thread, but i have no idea why he did it.. i can see
no harm in telling what track you remixed if you already
lost the peoples choice...

hmm

oh, i didn't see that closed thread.. maybe this thread will
get closed. i've never had a closed thread before.

anywho, if it doesn't get closed, i will post my track as
soon as i can get it up at zebox.

so far only me and roy have given good sob stories here.
let's hear some more. like "my dog ate my remix" or "it was
raining and the remix ran all over the page." i know you
guys got some good ones.

maybe its because people will be able to figure out who got
in the top 15 by knowing who DIDN'T post a "Here's my remix
that didn't win" thread :P

not necessarily. if you posted one track of yours, and we
weren't sure if you submitted one or two in total, then you
could be bluffing and have had a track in the final 15, but
posted the rejected track and claimed that you didn't make
it :) it's a completely possible situation.

plus, im guessing a very small percentage of people posted
their tracks online and not everyone will do it.

My remix haunted the dreams of the judges and they were too
scared to vote for it.

I'm surprised autechre is listening to them all. I only care
about their choices anyway, since they make some of my
favorite music. I hope they list their top 20 or so not just
their one favorite. Actually, I'd be even more interested in
hearing their favorite 20 if they were in the lp5 state of
mind, not the draft 7 state of mind.

offline evolume from seattle (United States) on 2003-07-10 11:04 [#00773102]

yeah, and who cares anyway? all i really wanted was for
people to hear my track, contest or no contest. and i'm too
impatient to wait for it to be posted on this board which
could take months. hell, I've already waited almost 3
months.

nice.
i think my remix wasn't picked because of all the cussing
and 'adult situations' it contains.

yeah, it would be the height of lameosity if we just get a
sticky topic one day thats like.. 'ae has picked
kittykot19's remix of quib as their favorite trk'

and we dont even get a little message from them or
anything.. like "hay it sure was fun listening to all these
rmxs and stuff.. wow you guys are cool.. we appreciate your
support over the years, etc, etc, etc..."

if they really want to be cool they will induvidually review
each track submitted.

i talked to phobs... he closed my thread, because he wanted
peoples attention to be on the qualifying remixes for now.
He wasnt mad or anything... he just wants the qualifying
remixs to get the attention they deserve.

i think my remix wasn't picked because it was a boring,
sloppy, noisy piece of shit that wasn't even a remix and
contained only two instruments (a beepy sound and sloppy
drums), none of which were taken from the original track.
it makes me realize that i have gotten much better at making
music since then.

"ae has picked their favorite. the prize has been sent.

Autechre needs to move on to a new medium. They mastered
music so much that to go farther they're starting to go
downhill again... They need to make videogames. Hell....
yes.

i think he turned into that play-do thing. it's beyond me
how he's managed to operate the mouse & keyboard of his comp
with those stubby play-do hands.

at least he now has that fresh chemical-y, play-doh-y
smell.. you can eat him to if you want, since he's
non-toxic.. tastes kind of weird and salty though..if i
remember correctly..

hey,
i like your mix Q. i don't think it would have been out of
place amongst the 15 qualifiers though it wouldn't have got
my vote for favorite. I can only imagine that it didn't get
picked because it doesn't really have a 'hook' or something
to make it really stand out. as i have noticed that most of
the qualified tracks have some kind of catchy melody or
something that sticks in your head.

good mix though.

how can you look at this and not tell me that it

on an unrelated note:
damn, i suck.
