Beatles Question

I keep reading references that blame Yoko Ono for the
destruction of the Beatles. But my knowledge of the band is
scant so I'd appreciate anyone telling me why.

Cheers

becuase when she showed up, john started to change, which
led to tension in the band. she was always there, and if i
recall, john or herself even tried to claim she was part of
the beatles. it's alot like sid and nancy, if you've ever
read rotten's bio.

I think Lennon insisted that Yoko be present in the studio,
against the wishes of the others.

I'm sure I read that it all began to collapse after
McCartney used Linda's dad as Beatles finacial advisor
without the blessing of the other members. Sommink like
that.

You can also see her on the terrace during the rooftop
concert too. She was there ALL the time.

because she is untalented, and was leaching onto him to
fulfill her own career. she's alot like courtney love in
that respect. except she didn't have her hubby killed.

explanation too.

Yes... she was always around during recording sessions. she
was smothering john and influencing his music.......

that problem with the manager is also true.....

they all left at one stage or another.....

george left during the let it be sessions and john wanted to
bring in eric clapton and replace him.... but evidently he
came back..

ringo left for a few days after seargent pepper... cos he
did almost nothing on the album and got so
boooorrreeeeddd....
apparently george was really bored with it as well.... but
they asked ringo back and then all went nuts on the white
album....

paul left for a bit over that manager thingy....

Chose to call it what you want to.

Rumour has it that one day Paul heard her humming Eleanor
Rigby in the studio. None of them were getting any younger,
and so in the best interest of the ears of all parties
concerned they told her stop coming or humming. She did not
listen to them. So one day when she walked in, humming yet
another 'melody', George tripped her with an umbrella. She
tripped, fell face flat on the ground and hurt her nose.
John got angry and left the studio in a huff.

That was the beginning of the end.

they eventually didnt record together tho.

On the White album one person would write a song, lay down
the 1st tracks then the others would come along and add
their bits seperately.

well that's what i heard

pOgO: so you're back now?

yeah, yoko would always be in the studio, adding her
unwanted input.

there was kind of an unwriten rule that no ones other half
would be in the studio.

finally paul lost it, and told john what was on his mind,
and insulted yoko, and that was it. it was over.

i actually saw a large retrospective of yoko ono's artwork
last year, and to dismiss her as "john lennon's wife" or as
an untalented, hanger-on leech of celebrity is an unfair and
uninformed perspective. i was surprised by the depth of her
invention and her intelligence and humor. she was an up and
coming but well known (though not mainstream) artist when
she met john lennon. you might say that her relationship
with him helped end her career.

ringo only left the band once, during the white album
sessions, on 22 august 1968. He came back fourteen days
later, and his drum was all covered with flowers. George
left during the let it be sessions, he had a row with paul.

Yoko was the first (beatles)woman who was in the abbey road
studios while the beatles were recording. Normally it was
forbidden to enter the studio while the beatles are
recording, but John was obsessed by Yoko, and when she was
sick he brought a bed to the studio, for yoko to lay dawn.

I guess I'm in the minority of Lennonites that actually
LIKES Yoko. I think the stories of her causing so much
friction are overblown, they actually got along fairly well
with her (compared to what you hear), and they would have
been at each other's throats regardless because of the
manager and ego situations. She was around the studio all
the time, which must have been annoying, but really she kept
in the background 99.9% of the time, and kept John somewhat
sane. I also like that story about her first time in the
studio, when they were recording Hey Bulldog, they tried
extra hard to make a great song just to impress her. And
that's one fucking great song!

And she inspired songs like Julia and I Want You, two of the
best songs ever written.

I saw her on Leno a month and a half ago, at 70 she looks
great. Looks 20 years younger than her age.

The ''Ocean Child'' lyric is about Yoko, it's about half and
half. Or maybe it's 1/3 mommy, 1/3 witch, 1/3 cat.

I actually caused the split of the Beatles because they
heard some of my shit and realised it was pointless going on
because they would just be making fools of themself.

Well I thought at the time they were turning their backs on
Liverpool and it made me sad, so I showed them what talent
really was and how it will always stay in the city. :D

The Beatles are probably one of the most overhyped groups
ever.

i think ringo, george & john blamed paul mccartney for
slowly trying to take over the band (i am the walrus). after
the beatles split, the other 3 continued to play on each
others records.

John was never as talented as Paul, no matter what people
say...Paul was the most talented member of the group and he
has never got the recognition he fully deserves.

Yeah probably, they WERE bigger than Jesus. But what is hype
anyway, nuthin' important. Anyway, just shut your mouth,
you've caused me enough pain with your wicked awesomeness.

I don't blame anyone for the breakup (other than
you-know-who). It's just a natural progression. Paul held
them together at times and drove them forward, so I can't
blame him. He's too cute to blame anyway.

He sullied his good reputation over the years with some
trite post-Beatles releases. I'm not sure how he was
percieved directly after the breakup... I was, like...
negative 13 1/2. But he's done a lot of damage to his
reputation HIMSELF.

(though his initial run of solo albums are great)

And now Paul has a wife with one leg which is so cool I want
one, but my girlfriend isn't too hot on the idea of
amputation...but we'll see :D

I can't help being so good, cool and awesome...sometimes it
is a curse I could live without, but I fear the rest of the
world would fall apart and crumble so I put up with it for
them :P

LOL

btw.....to say Yoko (and LINDA) for that matter sound like
CATS when singing is an INSULT to CATS......ahahhahahah

j/k

anyway they both REALLY suck, they used to have this funny
skit on a local radio station where they would play some
horrible yelling person and say.....oh thats Linda McCartney
singing again.......ehehhehhe

i think it was just time for 5 big EGO's to go their
separate ways, much to the chagrin of everyone who wanted
them to stay together. it's sad to see GREAT things end,
eventhough you know it's gotta happen.

ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO END =/ sad, but true!
