"Aquarius"

ORANGE!

what the fuck?! ... why??

it's good until this ORANGE! shit gets repeated for the
500th time and that macinvoice just starts counting.. please
tell me this is as bad as it gets... I've only begun
exploring Boc beyond geogaddi recently w/ MHTRTC

That song is genius what are you talking about? Orange is
such a cool/random thing to say, I love the sample.
Boards of Canada are amazing I can't find anything they made
where as I can say I don't like.

no I got that.. I just cant see how 'aquarius' is their best
song.. or how two voices goofily saying orange is in any way
cool?

1969 and Aquarius = probly my fav's off their 2 albums O_O

it's not, really. the song tests my patience a little, too.
i tend to push the "FF>>" button while driving around in my
car. never should've put it on that tape. dunno what i was
thinking, really.

are you fucking kidding me? guh. when they have tracks like
alpha and omega, sixtyniner, amo bishop roden, smokes
quantity, an eagle in your mind, telephasic workshop

etc. etc. etc. the list goes on and on and on. those are the
only two BoC songs that really make me squirm. amazing how
tastes vary, isn't it? =]

yeah they have much better, more accomplished work than
these tracks.. I'm really puzzeled as to how anyone would
rather listen to these tracks above/before the rest of
geogaddi etc

It's cool because it's funny. Not all IDM has to be this
serious/depressing/insane/manic music. "Orange.....yeah
that's right"
haha it makes no sense, that's why I love it.

i don't really think geogaddi is in any way better than
music has the right... .
and both get owned by the beauty of in a beautiful place in
the country ep.
but thats just my opinion, i could be wrong.

cheery, festive mood...

But it just makes me (and theo apparently) bitter and
unloved YOU CALLOUS SNOBS!!!

portray a shining example of the colour we call "orange".

a portishead song from the internet that i had never heard
of (aquarius? what the fuck? somebody either fucked up, or
was trying to lure me into downloading it..)....well it
turned out to be boc and i was hooked!

Telephasic Workshop...

Wasn't long before I was pulled onto BoC's boat...then I was
fileted, battered and deep-fried and served with a slice of
lemon...

That was their "breakthrough" hit- the one that got them
moderately famous. I think there are other, better BoC
tracks, but I like that one. Very playful.

yeah, i don't see how anyone can dislike 1969. it's just
such a good song. one of the best parts of that album, for
me. and it's not a sample, it's duder singing, kinda like
"abpoitc". haven't heard this "orange" thing you speak of,
cannot comment.

I actually think it's a great song. It's very subtle. Just
listen to it and all you'll hear are the voices and synths.
Listen properly though and you'll hear that there's a lot
going on. It's not as simple as it sounds.
