isn't it possible simply to not like the singing/rapping
without being racist?

i've heard hip hop, i respect them as musicians and i know
some of it can be good like most genres... i simply don't
listen to it because the singing/rapping is not to my
tastes, is that too hard to understand?

tits, don't be a pretentious ass, it's a fucking opinion
question.

You're doing what you got pissed at people for doing to your
"what is good on the radio" thread.

It was a simple question. We all know your smarter than
this, grow up.

there is bad music in every genre. if you base your opinion
of rap on acts like ja-rule, you just aren't looking hard
enough.
you have to go and look for the good stuff and if you don't
make an effort to do so, you are being kind of
ignorant.

titsworth is on to something, in his own sarcasticly
offensive way.

well, i caught it.
you just have to be careful in a forum such as a message
board becuase without tone of voice, sarcasm is more
difficult to detect.

If you have ever seen the urban blight of a your local
government housing project, you will notice that niggers
live like animals. Even a dog will not shit where it sleeps.
However, negroes do not have a problem with leaving trash in
their yards and broken 40 bottles litter the state funded
playgrounds that entertain their state funded children.

Years of rampant drug use and poor education have led to
Darwinlike evolution from man to animal. It is time we
classify them as such. Niggers should be licensed and
tagged, much like the way dogs are. This will help protect
the decent citizens from strays.

A strict framework of control is the only way to deal with
the negro problem today

flappy was just being cute starting this thread. subject's
been discussed to death; instead of repeating myself i like
to pretend to agree that it sucks, or pretend to be a moron
and say everyone's racist, etc. for what i really think,
just look at any post where i make music recommendations,
talk about a new hip-hop release, or in the older "does
hip-hop really suck?"-type threads.

obviously some people are latently racist--rap sucks but the
beastie boys are good, etc.--but usually it's just a case of
musical ignorance (hence the "electronic music sucks
because..." parody earlier). if people don't want to invest
the time and/or money in really understanding and exploring
a genre that's actually fine with me. i'm not about to waste
my time on ska. maybe 6 years ago, but at the moment i don't
really have the time or interest in exploring all the great
early ska music there was. same sort of thing.

its more than just guys talking over beats.
what i find intriguing about rap, good rap, is that they
have taken a media, language, and turned it into something
musical. a good rapper has taken something relatively
inanimate and made a rhythm instrument out of it. better
rappers do this AND keep the language in context. rhyming
with cadence in a context is extremely difficult to do.
this is why i respect someone like eminem as a word-smith
even though i don't really like his music.

I have no problem with the music, its the vocals i don't
like. If there is some instrumental hip hop i might like it.

You know, there's A LOT of different hip-hop out there. You
just have to go looking for it. If you think Ja Rule and
people of the like are all there is, then you need to wake
up.

I love hip-hop.
