seeing that other "gate" thread made me think of my
favorite nes game, or almost any game, shadowgate.. it's for
the nes and if you haven't played it, i suggest downloading
it right now.. from here..while the gameplay is
not for everyone, it has arguably the best nes music ever..
i love it..and i was thinking of doing a real intrument
musical tribute album to the music of this game, with
electric and acoustic guitars/ harpsicord, piano, etc..
anyone else a fan of this game and it's kick-ass music?

i am VERY inspired by the music from shadowgate. played it
as a toddler.

that game is one of my favorite nes games ever. that and
blaster master. oh and act raiser, part one not that shitty
part 2.

aside from all the obvious nes favorites (metroid, zelda
etc...)

shadow gate was good too though.

act raiser was for SNES, but that's okay. it's still a
fantastic game. and i agree..the second installment blew
ass.

the game isn't really all that great, like most nes games.
the music is the best ever though in my opinion.

actually. i wouldn't say it's my favorite nes game, because
it was so frustratingly difficult. i probably prefer the
mario games and some others when it comes to gameplay on the
nes.

I'm ashamed to say I'm not familiar with Shadowgate, but
ShadowRUN was fantastic for the SNES... not so much for
Genesis.

yeah it's not nearly as good as the nes game.
it had none of the same creepiness and originality..

Funny you should mention this today. I finally got around to
starting Neuromancer this morning. Just realised you don't
mean shadowrun. I'll shut up now... :)

oh well.. i'm sure their both fun.. well actually shadowgate
isn't really fun per se.. it just very interesting and has
great music.

i found some midi versions of the some of the music at
here ..the real music from the game is much better
though, but some of these are still pretty
good..particularly death, torch burning out, mirror room,
dragons den, coffin room, and castle halls.. the music in
the game is much less cheesy and better sounding.. even if
it is nintendo, it still sounds better than midi sounds for
the most part..

first..

Ahaha, this is wicked. I was just planning to play
Shadowgate, when I noticed that I had to download it, and
thought that, while online, I'd visit xltronic for a while
and found this topic. ^^
Deja vu. Or something.
Indeed, great game, eerie music, great atmosphere.

well i guess it's official.. post your shadowgate remixes

i think you can save high quality wav files of the music
using nesticle, and you can seperate each wav sound..

just to let you know::

I am really ashamed of the production in my Shadowgate remix
available at overclocked. I was a long time ago... I think
what I did is still worth a listen though...

Yer remix of Super Mario World is the greatest, though. ^^

third of the way through it...
