Best DVD commentary track.

WHich DVD's have great commentary?

I'd say:
Fight Club (many great tidbits of background stuff)

Spinal Tap (hillarious in-character track)

Jackie Brown (tarrantino says almost nothing about the movie
opting rather to just babble on endlessly about making
movies in general)

There's something about mary (the farelly brothers give lots
of interesting advice on movie making for aspiring film
directors)

Fight Club
Seven
Mallrats, Chasing Amy (Dogma and Clerks are probably good
too, the J&SBSB one is boring)
Evil Dead 1
Ghostbusters
LOTR
And Ocean's Eleven was okish.

I LOVE commentaries! What a geek!

The Donnie Darko one would be ok, if only Jake
Gwynmwyuwerynw would shut the fuck up, what a nitwit.

Amelie has a good commentary track.
Jean-Pierre Junet mentions some french jerk who parked his
car on the set, in the camera's frame, and wouldn't move it
for a couple hours, delaying filming one day.

Naming the best commentary track is impossible, unless
you've actually seen all of them, so that is for me useless
to even think about... But I do know what makes a nice
commentary track.

I love audio commentaries (and even video commentaries ;)
but I haven't seen that many, and ofthen I have to be in the
mood to listen to one...

Out of the ones I own I have to say these two are examples
of good ones:

* Evil Dead - I have only heard Bruce Campbells so far
(there are one with Sam Raimi and the producer to), but he's
great and talks a lot about the recordingprocess of every
scene, and makes lots of funny jokes...
* Starship Troopers - Paul Verhoeven (and some other guy)
talks a lot about the point of every scene, the point of the
movie, the reactions they got when they screened it, and
lots of interesting details. Great movie.

I have a couple I have not listened to yet, but I will cause
they are probably interesting, like Tim Burton's commentary
and Danny Elfman's commentary for "Edward Scissorhands", and
Barry Levinsons commentary for "Wag the dog". Hm I have not
listened to my Jerry Maguire audio commentary yet, but I did
see the video-commentary and it was great!
The whole gang, Cruise, Gooding Jr, Zelwegger, and Crowe
laughed at most of the scenes and they all seemed very fond
of the movie... and Cruise and Gooding Jr. kept telling
Zelwegger to do her Bridget Jones-voice... that was funny...

Beastie Boys Anthology has nice commentary from all three
guys, funny conversations and anecdotes.

Simpsons First Season has excellent commentaries that
provide insight and are funny as well.

Agree about the Fight Club track. (Norton: "If your
listening to this your cool!) And the Se7en commentary is
also wonderful, I love David Fincher asking Brad Pitt what
movie he likes better and Fincher goes into the analogy
about a mother giving her son two different ties.

I also love the Natural Born Killers commentary with Oliver
Stone, "No, we wern't drunk when we filmed this scene!"

BTW, it is wonderful to be back (for anyone who cares, i.e.
no one) :)

Good to see you Ceri JC! Computer troubles got me bad, along
with money troubles. I've been off the internet for 9
months! In that time I became a highly intelligent,
spiritual person. And now I've thrown all of that away for
porn and meaningless chat! Long live the internet!!

I'm very surprised that xltronic hasn't really started yet.
During my time of "internetlessness" I had visions of a
wonderful world that I was missing :)

The best one I've heard is probably Fight Club or Evil Dead
3.
the worst one Ive heard is the one for Fargo. The guy doing
it is the director of photography and he knows nothing about
the film. He just pops up every couple of scenes saying
"yeah, we had some problems with the camera on this bit".
