It's been dawning on me that we are at the start of the mythic Armageddon. With the bullies in the United States Government sowing seeds of future 'regime change' in Syria and Iran lately (even tho Iran was the only middle east country to stand with America after 9/11), it looks like the West and the Rest of the World are about to engage in a huge Holy War (whatever other name it may be given). I'm with the Rest of the World, and I'll do whatever I can when the time comes.
If you look at it from the Moslem World's point of view, this is the next step in Western Imperialism, which has stretched back over half a millenium. The systematic rape and pillage of non-christian countries, normally under the guise of 'educating' or 'converting' the 'primitive people'. From South America to Africa to Asia, it's been a nonstop plundering of mineral wealth and enlslavement of the people - I call it genoslavery. Now the Middle East must be thinking 'they're coming after us now', and I don't think they'll take it if THe West invade another of their neighbours. They tolerated Afghanistan and Iraq, but I don't believe they'll tolerate another invasion.

Can u imagine what the 2nd World War felt like?
But I know what u mean... it does feel a bit like a Holy war is about to kick off, it doesn't help that Bush & Blair both call themselves Christians. But, hey I don't think this is the end of the world right yet... ;)

Some people (my mother included) seem to see the Moslems as gasbags -- all talk - and that they'll do nothing if the West decide to 'rid' the Middle East of 'evil'. If the West starts trying to take over the Middle East, I don't believe the Moslem World (and the other countries that the West has fucked over in the past) will sit by and idly watch.

Probably not. But I doubt any of this will lead to "the end of the world".
As long as Korea and some asian countries don't get involved I think it'll be pretty "low-key" like the iraq war. Not saying it was irrelevent because a lot of bad things happened and a lot of people died. But speaking on a general scale.

Wasn't the Iraq war sorta "low-key"? I mean a lot of people were suprised of how fast it was. There's a lot we didn't see... but I don't know. A lot of countries don't have the resources to fight America. But some do... and those are the ones Bush better stay away from or he'll get fucked in his tight lil ass.

It won't be individual countries tho - that's my point.
I wouldn't say the Iraq 'war' was low-key - global condemnation protestation and outrage accompanied it. That will just rise and rise if they continue with their longterm plan and decide to try to take the rest of the middle east.

well, we'll see about that. This is a crossroads in modern history - we can either enter the age of Horus and become an enlightened world, or we can enter the pages of 1984 and become even more zombified. I'm an upbeat fellow, and I'm pushing for the former.

although I am also somewhat of the opinion the end is near...
it should be noted that at the turn of every century, people ALWAYS think the end is near. Its an interesting occurance... I dont know why it is either...
so, are we all just repeating history... or is there really just cause?
Think about that carefully...

Maybe this paranoia of something big being planned on America, is because the US of A actually has something to fear. After having dicked over every small country(and some big ones too) over the past few years, they know that their time too will come. I just pray that the ones that do take revenge do it in moderation, because if every American had to pay for every sin committed by his government against other people, every American would have to face something a million times as bad as the WTC a million times over and over again.

several ancient civilisations, independantly (which is THE crux of the matter) placed the end of the current age to be in 2012. The end of Ages is traditional bloody, and the way things stand at the moment, with the incredible tension and friction between East and West, that something big just HAS to happen soon. That's my inclination right now. This is the natural conclusion to it all.

I am not a pessimist. I feel that someday we will redeem ourselves and peace will prevail. Atleast, I hope it will. It would be frustrating to see something as promising as the human race self-destruct into pettiness. And illogical (and consequently unnatural, as nature is logical) to boot.

Well it wouldn't be the end of the world.. just the end of the human race and a lot of innocent species of animals and plants. It'd have to be from nuclear weapons, big ones... a-bombs to distroy all of us. I just don't see any country doing that , atleast not yet... there's still lots of power to have.
but if it did, they'd be another form of life, probably, after us... which might be better. I wish I could see how the world would evolve after humans.. that'd be soo interesting.

First I didn't say you called all terrorists freedom fighters. It's hypocritical because they fight for freedom by removing other people's freedoms.
Second, I meant cause harm as in do terrorist acts. Not just harm in general.

they fight for THEIR freedom. there's a difference. If the oppressors have organised it in such a way that innocent people may be slain so the oppressed may gain their freedom, then so be it. That's how it has to be. Don't blame the freedom fighter's - blame the Oppressors.

1. what do you plan to do with the next 8 years of your life

But I just really dont believe in fate or destiny... and thats what you're talking about. When someone predicts the future, its assuming its destined to happen. I dont believe in predeterminism
