Is it just me? I like RDJ and ae etc etc.. But i just can't get into BOC. It just seems to be missing something. Every song just doesn't sound like it's finished or something. Maybe it's just me..

what does it seem to be missing to you? I think it feels very complete and full.

i agree part of what i love of BOC's works are the rich, full synths.
their sound is deffinately minimal, but i wouldn't say it is missing anything. they don't use a lot of sequencer trickery and tedious programming if thats what you mean but that ain't their bag.

That might be what it is evolume. Hard to describe why i just don't like it - i don't know all the musical terms etc. Like it's not bad compared to a lot of music today, but i'm surprised it's as popular as like RDJ, ae, []pusher, etc.. Maybe i should try listening a bit more and see if it grows on me. But i have listened to BOC alot and it hasn't been instant like the other artists i mentioned.

I need my BoC ;___;
Well...BoC appeal is strictly from an emotional point of view...contrary of autechre they are not trying to be some kind of virtuoso or anything and see how far they can push their machines...
And besides that part of th BoC appeal is that childish like feeling that it has...

i used to feel this way about autechre, but i guess one day it hit me and i started to really get into some of their tracks. it just depends on your mood/attitudes maybe
i guess its appeal, maybe their (boc) sound doesnt appeal to you..
give them a try though they kick ass!

Thanks b0nk. Good reply. I will keep listening to them. Like right now i've nearly downloaded and listened to Geogaddi and i'm really liking this album actually. It must have just been other stuff of theirs not appealing to me.

i don't really like'em that much either the melodies are nice but bore me quite quickly the beats could be more varied imo, most of the time it's 4/4 boom-tick-boom-tick
Maybe it's just me..
