I asked about his new album the other day, and basically
everyone here said it was shit...

Im curious to hear it though... clubbed to death was
genius... but apparently the rest of the album is blah...

but Ill form my own opinion

Why do you waste your time with this shit !? If you want
real Techno / Trance muzak, you gotta look elsewhere.....no
offence ;) !

i liked clubbed to death

i like classical music, I like electronic music

good combonation in clubbed to death... so I wanna see if
the other stuff is like it

Yeah but if someone mixes classical music with electronic
music....isnt that bound to be awefully cheesy....!? That
combination doesnt work imho....

i remember the french movie "clubbed to death" and was
stunned about the soundtrack... obviously the guys behind
matrix liked it as well... :)

clubbed to death is a dope fucking song, as we all seemed to
agree, everyhing else about his work seems to be boring and
repative.

I haven't heard much else besides CtD, and don't really care
to.

Clubbed to Death (Kurayamino Variation) is my all time
favourite track (by any artist). None of his other stuff
comes close IMO, but then, not much does. I quite liked the
tracks he contributed to the new Matrix film though.

Phobs- That film was actually going to be called something
else entirely, the producer heard the track realised it
fitted the film and changed the title. The track appears 3
times throughout the film in slightly different mixes.

I've got one of the thousand copies of both Clubbed to Death
# 1 and Clubbed to Death # 2 on 12" :D

Nope, I'll probably DL it to check it out, but I doubt I'll
buy it.

i don't really like the vocals in his new tracks, it ruins
the songs. they would be much better instrumental

i've been listening to furious angels lately and i
have to say it's really not too bad. there is a slight hint
of cheesiness throughout, but i think it still works well.

and...there's something about it that's been bothering the
crap right out of me. many of the melodies seem extremely
'familiar'. is he reinventing established melodies or
something??

offline Dozier from United States on 2003-10-19 18:11 [#00909293]
Points: 2080 Status: Lurker

oh yeah, one other interesting thing about his music is his
vocals. they kind of border on gothic sometimes. it's quite
an ecclectic musical montage

old thread central, population this thread

the shit in matrix reloaded was fucking awful

to clarify, I meant the shit he did for Reloaded was fucking
awful, though iirc, the movie and soundtrack were both
totally shit

offline Asche XL on 2003-10-19 19:26 [#00909333]

I actually thought the matrix was awesome before I read
those last few posts but now that I think about everything
was shit, the music and the movie! Complete shit. Infact
matrix doesn't stand a chance in coolness factor when
compared to "shit."

asche: so you don't think furious angels (the track) is
quality anymore? not quite sure what you mean about changing
your mind after reading 'those last few posts'.

blatant: what's iirc?

the regular cd plus instrumental versions of all the songs
where he sings, and thats a very good thing because his
voice is just terrrriiibbbllleeee

i got the 2cd version of this a few days ago (it was only
two dollars), clubbed to death is excellent but the rest is
pretty mediocre.

More than twice... :(

He is a bit of a one trick pony and nothing really touches
the Kurayamino variation of Clubbed to Death.

Dozier: It's because his composition style rips off
shostokovich very well.
