David Lanz - Cristfori's Dream (1988)

A very good instrumental piano album. I almost grew up on
it. It's old, but the fantastic SOUND of it! So deep, so
organic, the bass, the instruments I can't even recognise
because they're too well blended into the lines they're
playing... Wonderful.

Somewhat... But they are more 'ambient' and experimental. I
love their two albums.

Linku.

It's piano, though there are different instruments
accompanying at times, mainly strings, but the main thing is
always piano.

excelent, kinda hard to descrive the music, its in a genre
of its own almost.

i'll find a link to somewhere that gives a good description

i think this is a decent description:

"Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry are the catalysts for Dead
Can Dance who's music may be gothic, new age, world,
ethereal, neo-classical and dark wave."

they are one of my best musical discoveries in the last few
years

huh, plenty of stuff to check (i havent heard of many of
these artists)
to narrow it down a bit-im more into electronic music, and
perhaps a really good hip hop album-something like its your
birthday by 50 cent :)

but it would be great if someone could recommend an album
alike do you know squarepusher or drukqs :)

ok, by associating with these bands, I am not saying Coheed
is like them, but just, for comparisions sake.

Simply put, Coheed & Cambria is way beyond these guys, but
together they'd make a great show.

Alva Noto & Ryuichi Sakamoto
i guess this must sound pretty minimalistic-i have one album
by alva noto and its basically just clicks-is this one more
diversed?

is that manitoba's new thing available on cd?

(and you'll be sorry for getting rid of that cd hehehe)

of beefcake, phonem, or gimmik

i dont know any of these 3 but i'll definitely check it out!

Alva Noto provides the click and light shuffling noises,
Ryuichi Sakamoto provides piano. Imagine a 21st century
version of Brian Eno's 'Music For Airports'.

The new Manitoba is on CD.

As for the TSE, someone has bid £2.50 for it already. My
sacrifice won't have been in vain when I'm riding around on
my new mountain bike :P

Yeah, I need to get fit and lose some weight. Get back into
some of the skirts I've grown out of.

Added incentive is there's a new cycle route opened up
nearby which would make for a pretty good daily 6-mile
cycle.

well, I've never heard Ovo... but, it's amazing... very
visual in that it creates lots of images of places and
stuff, mostly desert types images as it's music for a movie
of this type of setting... but it's also very VERY
emotional... like a journey of sorts the album is... you go
through all emotions while you listen, and come out with a
very hopeful uplifting outlook... I just love it, and it's
the best cd I've ever heard... I think a lot of people here
would probably like it if they gave it a go...
