beats me, but I'm considering switching to macs JUST for OS
X, i'm so fucking tired of XP, i'll give up 2ghz for a more
reasonable GUI.

PC are better.......?

for what? isnt't that your question anyway?

PCs are available with faster processors, even if they are
slightly less efficent, they are faster.

however, the GUI on PCs.....(windows....) sucks balls, it's
unintuitive, clunky and not fluid. OS X is just the
opposite.

Now, if a PC could run OS X......................

If you just need a computer for making music, then Mac is
surely your choice. It's perfect for that.

And XP sucks ass only if you know what we're talking about,
I mean, if you don't understand that, then Mac is surely
your choice.

Ahoy!

Well it's that old adage about what do you really want out
of life, a new car or a mChicken sandwich, I said to her
"damn you can't sell frozen lollies to the feds" and she was
all like "tic tac sir?" so the next day I investigated what
seemed like an unusual case of alchohol poisoning, where the
victim was a slightly battered haddock in his late fifties,
never to be told again that the sun only sets in the east,
but then again, who does?

I have used all types of OS over the last 15 years or so and
have to say that having started to use Macs about 2 years
ago I am a less stressed person as a result. Don't get me
wrong I know how to fix PCs but thats not the point. When I
buy a product I want it to work and work well. I think the
point with a mac i salthough it might not have super fast
clock speed but it has efficiency. It just works from day
one!!

Once I got closer, I realised the bridge wasn't as well
built as I had first reckoned. On closer inspection, the
laces seemed to be unravelling, and I was thrown onto my
back and dragged for several minutes. We looked at the
animals but they seemed drugged and unhappy, so I jumped off
the edge and floated gently down into a different state of
existence where threads like this don't exist

BlatantEcho:

There are tons of shells out there, enlightenment, litestep,
blackbox, etc. or just run linux.

But just go get another shell for win32 and make your own
gui. Simple as that.

And don't talk about "lessefficient" if you want to compair
CISC and RISC just give me the go ahead.

Get a mac. You can concentrate more on making music and
less on making sure the computer works correctly.

Actually - Mr. Twin uses both. I know for a fact that he
user a mac when recording certain things, because some of
the software he uses is made exclusively for MAC. But Anyone
who's seen a photo know he uses a PC when he is live.

Really it's all about preferance. Everything you want can be
done on either one.

But personally I prefer PC. Just because so many people code
their own shit for windows systems. - It makes it fun to use
weird tools that you can't buy in any store.

i use both heavily for making music.

why limit yourself to one tool when working on something?
carpenters use different types of hammers and saws.
guitarists use both acoustic and electric.

why as a computer musician should you only use one type of
computer?

one is not better than the other. they both perform their
jobs equally well.
