Fuck it. Mortality rate of 8%, bullshit, pussy disease. .. Nah not really, but with a mortality rate of only 8% youd start to wonder why they make it sound so bad.

cos it has the potential of being a world-wide epidemic... with no cure and no idea of its cause.

I think we need to take all diseases seriously and worry about them.
But on the other hand, it's like a population control. Like natural disaters and such. But I still wouldn't want me or anyone to die from such painful diseases. So.. can't really say much on it.

what's the mortality rate of a bad case of the flu?
I mean, I bet it's just as likely to kill old/sick people as much as SARS is.

More people die from MAGAZINES then they do sars a year. I think like last year in canada 500+ people died from magazines or something HAHAHA! Dont ask me how (I think its cause people lick their fingers or some shit to turn the page).
People should worry about living and not dieing. Life is short anyway, and if their is something you WANT TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE then do it cause like you could like die from anything you know (Like magazines)?

dude, the flu has 3% mortality without antibiotics, yet 15 million died during an epediemic after WW1 cause there was no medical treatment then. 8% is really high for a desease if you can't treat - it may sound low but it is a real danger

better SARS than an all-out nuclear holocaust as a means of erm. "population control" (one of those pleasantly-sounding phrases along the lines of "friendly fire" and "collateral damage" not to forget being "expandable" and getting "laid off"). let's face it, we would be much better off if all of the conservative republican kkk member right-wing christian fundamentalist u.s. senate members kicked the bucket from SARS! (well, one can hope anyhow!) so provided it kills george dubya and his cronies, mabye it won't prove as bad as they make it.

Anyone ever think.... it might be related to the melting polar icecaps? yah know.. all that stuff melting and releasing ancient ass bacteria, etc. into the air?? I've heard of studies too about plague / non-common outbreaks in countries where volcanic eruptions recently happened.
