what is the worst nightmare you can remember ?
mine was yesterday. i dreamed that i was driving with my
bike along the coast (huh ? coast ?) and suddenly, i slipped
and fell of the cliff, about 20 metres, crashed onto the
water. then i began drowning and i tried to swim but i
didn't work. at this time i woke up sweated...
i'm scared. that was the first time such a thing. something
like this nevber happende before...
does anybody know interpretations of dreams ? will i die
soon or what ? i'm going swimming tomorrow and i'm scared
like hell.

don't worry, I've seen worse than that and it had no effect
on my life... xcept that I could do nothing but weep on the
shower floor for a day and a half, sobbing uncontrollably...
it was really bad... don't think I can talk about it...

i have a reoccuring nightmare:

its a "wake up" dream, in which i wake up and there is a
floating dog head starring me directly in the eye next to my
bed, it has been occuring alot lately. the wierd thing is
that its unexplainably scary, like normally if that happend
i would wake up laughing, but theres some frusturation, some
emotions i am unaware of that make it horribly frightening.

To the previous posts: Holy shit.

I haven't had a nightmare in a long time, I should probably
be grateful. Well, I say nightmare but I mean bad nightmare,
sometimes I just laugh at my own mind for making the shit
up. I had a dream where I was being operated on a while
ago.. they were slowly pulling my organs out..and I couldn't
do a thing because I paralyzed or something...

OMG when I spotted this message I thought it was Phobia's
avatar... Imagine him posting in a "post your nightmare"
thread... :O

2rarndaraki: man I know so well what you're talking about...
I had a reoccurring nightmare about a bull with a human
fist, he shaked his fist right to my face, it was SO
frightening and dreadful...

i had a lucid dream once where my ex girlfriend and her new
boyfriend had killed me and cut me in half. they were
draggin my torso on a gravel road and i could feel the
texture of the gravel on my back. everything looked blueish
from the moonlight. I was completely aware of what was
going on, and I could hear them talking about me, but, I
couldn't tell if I was having a really realistic dream or if
I was dead.

after trying to move for a while I realized that my mouth
was kinda near her hand, which was under my arm dragging me.
so, i concentrated really hard and bit her hand and she
dropped me. when I hit the ground I woke up.

maybe not the 'scariest' dream I've ever had because I was
surprisingly calm. but, very jarring none
the less. btw: her new boyfriend was one of my best friends
too.

don't worry sadist.
i've had a lot of nightmares...
i've been hunted tortured raped killed mutilated. so far
these things haven't happened to me in real life.

but it's weird that in the worst nightmares there is nothing
scary really, except the feeling. the overwhelming feeling
of horror that can't be explained.

I have loads of scary nightmares most I forget (purposly).

I remeber one.I was in the woods,it was dark and foggy.I
could hear something behind me,twigs snapping under its
feet,leaves crunching.
I turn around and I see a shadowy figure stood there,I could
make out its eyes, bloodshot and black, stalking my every
move.
It makes a sudden movement.I panic.I run.Branches hitting my
face, thorns tearing my naked skin.I can hear it pant as it
chases me through the thick forest.Again twigs
snapping,leaves crunching.
Suddenly I see myself through the "monsters" eyes.I see
myself running for my life.I see myself turn my head, pure
fear on my pale face, blood pouring from my newly torn
wounds.
As the monster I feel fun, pleasure if you will,at my
misfortune of being chased through the night.
I then see myself trip on a misplaced log, perfect opertunity
to kill the fallen one.
The monster catches up,towering above me,claws out,teeth
gnarling.Again pure, sickening fear in my eyes is apparent.

I change persons again,I am myself,on the floor about to be
killed my feelings of pain, fear are back. The monster swings
its arm and I hear my skin rip and intestines tear.PAIN!
This pain feels good,it feels "right".Again another strike
of the claws,to the throat.It catches a major vein/artery.
I know i'm going to die a painfull death.I am happy that I
will die.

*dream ends*

This was the night I tried to take my life, knife to the
wrists in the bathroom.
I thought the dream was a sign.I was suffering major
depression at the time.

Speaking of Lucid Dreams i had one last night.

I was walking down a street i lived on 9-10 years ago. So i
realized it was a dream. I reached in my pocket and pulled
out a key. I immediately looked to the sky and said "This
key will open a door and lead me to my soulmate. Not because
of me but because of my faith."

I opened a door to this house and it had a real real bad
vibe. I got real nervous and on edge. There was one room
with a light on so i went in. I got into this discussion
with 2 guys and a girl about how i lucid dream and my goal
is to meet my soulmate. So this led me to asking "What's it
like being in my dream?" to which i got a angry response
from one of the guys "What makes you think that we are in
YOUR dream?". They looked at me as if i was ignorant.

I nervously went back to talk to the girl who explained to
me that she was my soulmate. Now this is the fucked up part.
I said (without thinking about it) "No. I can feel the heart
of her." so i put her hand on my chest and my heartbeat
inverted and it wasn't my own pace. I also felt warmth and
what i would decribe as love and compassion. It really
tripped me out. When i took her hand away it reinverted and
went back to normal. It was so powerful of an experience
that i almost lost lucidity. The girl got mega offended.
Then those guys wanted to kill me. I fought back but they
were brick like. Too solid to punch. I also couldn't do
anytricks because of when my heart inverted. I had no power
or energy left so i woke myself up.

The whole heartbeat thing sounded pretty cool. How do you
have lucid dreams anyway...in a nutshell?

thanks for sharing your dreams guys

I recall a nightmare where I was one of the native african
villagers, and then the white invaders came, they boiled my
little daughter and raped and tortured my wife and cut off
my genitals... It all was very realistic, and the emotions I
felt were very true too... damn that's the second to worst
nightmare I've ever had. When I woke up, I cried.
Impossible, but my nightmares are usually the most real
dreams I have.

Some Lucid info here

The more you think about dreaming and doing things like
reality check the more frequent it will become. There are
three useful links in the thread i linked above. It might
help you.

I was also told that the more you research the more it
primes your brain (so to speak) for dreaming.

i dont know about my WORST, but one i had for like 4 nights
in a row goes like this: im in the desert, and there's an
army. everything is tan, including the soldiers and the
tanks, and even the sky is tan. then this dark cloud rolls
up and opens right over them. this funnel comes out and this
HUGE tornado just WRECKS this army. it seems to be
intentional, like the tornado itself decided to do it. i run
away, trying not to get caught in it. i get home somehow and
i look in the mirror. 6 or 7 teeth fall out of the top row
in the front. each night i have had this dream, the teeth
falling out got more gory (ie. gums rotting, blood,
cancerous looking tumors, etc...)

weird, huh?

I've read many Castaneda's works about dreaming, and man, I
discovered most of the basic techniques described there
myself. Just get on it, dream more, and think about it more.

The worst dreams I have ever had is were I am filled with an
empty dread. It can go on to last all the following day, a
desguisting rank feeling of impending doom.

i once fell asleep listening to SAW vol 2. curtains came on
(track six, disc one).
I had the freakiest dream. This carnival came into town and
that music was playing, a neverending cycle of the same few
notes. There were these really weird looking guys in tophats
hovering around with these giant grins pasted onto them. One
of them caught a glimpse of me and they rushed toward me. It
was scary because it was methodical and all i could hear was
curtains. Then the colors in the dream inverted and turned
black and white. I couldn't move or anything and one of the
men bent over me and opened up his mouth. A stream of white
noise came out. Scariest shit ever.
