end of drugs

no more drugs for me thanks, this was my last day. had some
truffles, walked down the street, shrank down, watched
everything go in slow motion, and now i'm waiting for the
shit to fade out. i go into despair mode too often now, it's
not a fun thing, no not at all. last album to be heard in an
altered state: this is stina nordenstam.

any other recent quitters? something? trying to make this
community viable.

My favorite people are the ones who never tried any drugs.
They always say helpfull things like "drugs are bad". Yes,
those people are great because they are walking libraries
full of knowledge and experience, and they are not at all
brainwashed.

Its one thing if you've tried and it and go "not my cup of
tea". Fine, at least you know what its all about, but I ton
of people here bash drugs (all drugs, mind you, because we
all know that marijuana is equivilent to crack/cocaine) they
have no idea what the hell they are talking about and should
keep their mouths shut.

I enjoy smoking marijuana to relax when I don't have any
responsibilities to tend to and combat my insomnia at
nightime.

I enjoy drinking alcohol when at parties or out with friends
to help cut loose and have a good time.

I enjoy using LSD to expand my perspectives and perceptions
of the world around me, and experience beauty and nature in
a new light.

I enjoy using cocaine when I'm drunk and somebody gives it
to me for free.

I also like being sober sometimes ;)

i had done marijuana back in high school, and i didnt find
the experience too amusing. rather disorienting and
blurred. i wonder - those who do smoke often, do you feel
concious enough to do normal sober-style things? like post
on this mb, read, make cds, etc? i know i felt like i
wouldnt have been able to.

Blah blah I don't care if people hate them without trying
them - it's their loss.

I know that smoking weed and doing acid has helped my
imagination and doign E has helped me meet a lot of really
really ncie people, and it's totally made my life better

and yes i have a lot of fun when i'm not on drugs.

"those who do smoke often, do you feel
concious enough to do normal sober-style things"

Totally.... The first few times you smoke is much different
then once you've become used to it.... I don't really enjoy
going into work high but thats about the only thing.... I
can do everything else as well or better if I'm a little
stoned....

Mushrooms and LSD are completely different, only expierment
with these if you are willing to let them take control of
you. If you try and keep control, you'll end up panicing and
having a bad time...

Drugs arent stupid, only some of the people who use them
are....

I can do anything on weed, although some things are a bit
tought to do than others. Listen to music high is great
although making music high is a slow process because you
have to interact with a being (computer code) that isn't on
the same brainwave pattern as you.

seems to me that some peepz in here tend to look down on
drug users, most of them are too damn sober to visualize
life further than soberness. There`s nothing outrageous
about having vodka shots with co-workers, or smoking a splif
with your girl listening to SAW2

i love it, and screw everyone else.

;D

Reality is just a crutch for people who cant handle drugs!
...lol j/k obviously

ive stopped smoking weed altogether a couple times this year
for a few weeks each.. (like right now)
i want to make sure i can stop easily, and "reality" isn't
boring..

i find it sort of funny when people who drink alchohol (and
presumably have been drunk) put down drug users....

also, weed + music = wow
...and if someone replies with "i dont need weed to
appreciate music".. well neither do i, or anyone else
but when something changes the way your mind works, it
changes the way you experience things including music
experiencing things in that different way CAN be very
rewarding... so its not a question of "needing" drugs to
"enjoy" the world.. its simply that drugs can let you
experience the world in a way you cant have imagined before,
and you might enjoy that experience

so you might be missing something
whether you'd like that thing or not is another question

i replied in the start of drugs thread saying :

why do some people assume that those who use drugs rely on
them to bring them happiness?

IGNORANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

drugs i use, like shrooms and weed, are a retrofit for the
sober brain, nothing more, nothing less. it's about
DIFFERENT experiences.

"people shouldn't need chemicals to enjoy life"

SHUT THE FUCK UP PLEASE
it's the same as being a racist
you assume too much
and then you generalize based on these false assumptions
you think you can know what's going on with people you don't

know

It's just different perceptions, same as how listening to
SAW2 touches your mind differently than listening to N'Sync
or some radio poop.

offline AMinal from Toronto (Canada) on 2003-03-26 23:07 [#00618684]

yeah just cus you use drugs doesn't mean you "need them to
be happy", or you have some sort of problem

in the same way drinking alchohol doesn't make you an
alchoholic, or necessarily represents a problem

everyone has their own reasons for doing it, some are
healthier than others

it's just that there's such SCARY SCARY PROPAGANDA going on
in the U.S. about this subject, it Brainwashes ALOT of
people. the brainwashers want to keep everyone ignorant and
scared of the generalised phantom demon "drugs", and with
good reason, because drugs such as marijuana and
psychedelics are prone to make people raised in this modern
world of human pasteurization more themselves and less a
robot cog in the society of the allmighty dollar to which we
are forced to pay taxes and give money/power to a few who
have aquired the most money/power over the centuries for
whatever reason, call it the right luck if you will, but the
fact remains: they do not represent and have no intentions
of representing humanity as a whole because they are
consumed by selfish money/power greed. It's such a SERIOUS
REALITY that it may get pushed to the back of the mind of
even those who realize it, because who can do anything about
it? only time and understanding of this problem by more and
more people will eventually solve this problem.

never tried it... and i live in holland :-p Go figure...
hehe. I must be the last dutchie who's never been high ;-)

I've just never gotten into any situation where i've been
confronted with drugs. (mostly because of my introverted
hermit-lifestyle). And i'm not that curious that i
just wake up one day and decide to go to a coffeeshop... i
just don't care enough i guess :-)

But i don't mind (soft)drugs. It should be legalised
everywhere... or if the government really wanted to protect
us, they should also make alcohol and cigarettes illegal.

i used to use a lot of shit, and smoke many times every day.
Paradoxically, its hard to see the falsity of drugs when you
are still using them.
Creativity comes from an individual, not a chemical. And if
you think E is less dangerous than alcohol, you've never
been chased by an electric guitar swinging E freak losing
contact with reality after snorting three pills in a row.

best of luck to those who are quitting/ have quit.

yes alcohol is one of the most dangerous ones - also because
it has become so normal in our society. you are seen as
being quite weird when you don't drink, even. its the other
extreme.

on a different note, I read in the papers last week that
some scientists had gotten conclusive evidence that xtc
causes clinical depression. well, if you are a heavy user,
mind you.. :P

i am trying to give up consumption of drugs at the minute.
and when you have a bunch of mates who keep coming round
with loads of them, you know that quitting is not going to
be easy.
i wouldn't say that i'm an addict, but its really hard to
quit drugs when your life revolves around getting fucked up.
well it doesn't, but the people i hang out with are getting
that way, so its "time out time."

"its hard to see the falsity of drugs when you

that's an opinion, not a fact. you decided for yourself that
all drugs are false somehow. that's fine. but don't state it
as it's a fact. others have differing opinions. i have
stopped using drugs for years at a time and have not come to
the opinion that they are false.

an interesting kubrick quote:
" One of the things that's turned me against LSD is that all
the people I know who use it have a peculiar inability to
distinguish between things that are really interesting and
stimulating and things that appear to be so in the state of
universal bliss that the drug induces on a "good" trip. They
seem to completely lose their critical faculties and
disengage themselves from some of the most stimulating areas
of life. Perhaps when everything is beautiful, nothing is
beautiful."
