hello i got a new warp promo: its called 'Advanced
Listening Opportunity', and the catalogue number is:
WARPSAMP1

on the warp site it says only warpmart giving them away, it
seems this is not the case!

sorry if this has been covered before!

i work in HMV in uk and noticed we had a pile of these in,
so i thought id take one, they are free as far as i know, so
go into ur local HMV and ask for one! (quote the catalogue
number if u have to)

contains:

1. LFo - millionairwe dogs
2. NoW - know my name remix
3. Beans - phreek the beat
4. Plaid - Miamivice
5. Chris clark - wolf
6. Autechre - V-Proc
7. Mira calix - woody
8. Brothomstates - naksuttelu
9. Mike flowers (aphex remix)
10. Prefuse 73 - storm returns

impressed by new Ae track, its the first ive heard of the
new album, its a head fuck!

that chris clark track sounds like Ae, is any of his other
stuff good?

cheers big ears

lots of great tracks on that one, especially "Millionaire
Dog" (wish it had been a bit longer), "Miamivice" and
"V-PROC"...

they're really good
i have frequencies and advance
both really nice old school stuff
i especially like advance
some people describe idm as dark, well in this case its
quite cheerful music (not that i find other dark)

I got that CD through WarpMART on saurday morning then
wandered into HMV that afternoon and saw it there. I bought
one of the albums it came free with so I have two. One can
stay in the car as a permanent fixture.

Did you have to buy anything in HMV, giginger? Or was it
just there to pick up?

I bought a CD. The bloke at the counter didn't know what it
was so I probably could have got away with not buying a CD
for it. I was getting some DVDs as well.

one of you nice bods asking for one for me and posting it

Damn, I wish I had read that post before I just took a trip
down to HMV. The guy refused to give me a sampler unless I
bought a Warp release, which 1) they don't have that many
of, and 2) are way overpriced.

Grr.

merg, do you still want a copy of this sampler? I might be
able to get one to you.

Milton Keynes employees! I went upstairs to the DVD section
so that's probably why.

shows where asking gets you. I went back a second time an
they're just sitting there on the shelf with the word 'free'
on them.

Hehehehehe. If there's no barcode then they don't care.

Of course you could always buy it on ebay.

It seems that haroldthenastycat has made a trip to his local
HMV. He has no less than five samplers up for auction.

Swansea bastards.

jarworski, make sure it's not just sat on the shelf. When I
asked, the guy glanced furtively behind the counter, as if
that was where they kept them, but in fact they are just
available to all.

It makes no sense to keep them hidden, since other folk
won't get exposed to Warp's up-and-coming. People should be
able to freely pick up a copy, take it home, play it and say
"what the hell is this crap", before throwing it in the bin.

Yeah I forgot to look when I was browsing the Warp section,
I asked on my way out and the guy had to phone upstairs to
ask. BUT I also heard him say "...you'll get the sack eh?"
which I think meant that if he gave me one for nowt then his
arse was on the line.

Full of double entendres, that last sentence :D
