SAW2 In The Office

Ok, so It's easy to picture where I sit all day.. just
imagine your archetypal software company, cubicles from one
end to the other..

I get to listen to music all day long which is totally
awesome... Today is kinda rainy and shitty outside.. so I'm
bumpin some SAW2.

It's really filling up the room. I've got lots of comments
on my music today.. the people here in the office are really
responding to it. People asking for copies of the album and
stuff haha..

Most of the time they just walk by my desk and either don't
say anything at all, or just be like. "wtf is this?".. or
what's really funny is when I go smoke and I come back from
smoking or something and my winamp has switched from
something really quiet to some really abrasive death
techno.. hahah.. everyone giving me these weird looks.

I used to get really offended when people would make fun of
the music I listened to, now I don't give a shit..

Anyhow, the point of the story is.. it's raining here and my
coworkers are being forced to listen to SAW2 and some of
them like it.

see ya.

suggest some saw 85-92 to them as well, you might start the
whole office in getting into electronica.

i HATE when people tell me to turn down the music "I don't
like this techno music" even if i've told 'em many time it's
not techno! can't they tell the difference between techno
and say...drill&bass! irritates me

see, i always get people asking me what type of music i
listen to and if i turn around and say, i like boards of
canada and mira calix, i know they wont know what it is...so
i just kinda say, you wont really know, i doubt you'd have
heard it before and then they say "so, you dont really
listen to music that much then?"
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhh!!!!
also, i hate the fact that when i get to listen to my tunes
at work, they all piss and moan about how shite it is when
they listen to Scottish piss like The Proclaimers, or
fucking oasis or whatever.

I mean, i listen to a huge range of music, from mogwai, to
bjork, the strokes, dillinger escape plan, (old) johnny
cash, mr scruff, jeff mills, aphex...i could go on forever,
anything goes...i aint a big music snob, i try to stay as
open minded as possible, but to these people i must look so
narrow minded. that pisses me right off.

ps:thanks for letting me get that one off my chest. ta.

One week ago I introduced some BOC to my friends while they
were busy playing cards and drinking beer. I played In a
beautiful place and some Twoism tunes and after a while I
saw them being possessed by the music in a subliminal way -
shuffling the cards in synchrony with the beat , slowly
moving their body. They barely noticed when I switched to
squarepusher drill&bass but the vsnare plateau was a little
too much. One of the guys then told me to put some matmos,
he knew about them being a big fan of Bjork.

One day I was watching GG with one of my best friends who is
not into electronic stuffs at all ( he has an extensive
knowledge of musicals and classical music ) and at the end
of the video that we were watching using the DVD player of
his PS2. He just told me " nice visuals, too bad that the
PS2 sound drivers are too old to correctly decode the audio
stream ". Conclusion autechre has the sound of a non
compliant sound driver.

be sure to critisize their musical taste, and then shortly
after, play your music loud and be right in their face about
it.

WeaklingChild. that's exactly the bullshit i get from
people. I'm very open minded to all kinds of music and i
respect everyone's taste (even if it's a shitty one) but
when they start to say my music is crap (Even the nice
melodic triphopish tunes) when they listen to unoriginal
mainstream post-rock, something that's been done over and
over again. I hate the fact they are so narrow minded,
they'll only listen to one type of music and never seem to
want to explore other musical aspects. fucking pisses me
off.

Gervais shite-com The Office.

One day I was listening to 'Pule' off Chiastic Slide and
this old lady said it was pretty. She was right, it is..

I don't like autechre too much at the workplace... this
place is chaotic enough already.
