I think there's a demonstration in Brussels every week or
so.

The Belgian government is against a war, does that mean it
worked?

There's a demonstration here in London....its on TV now!

sounds very good.

it's not that often so many people all around the world
express their opinion with such a volume.

there really can't be too many demonstrations on this
subjects. Every demonstration, no matter how small, makes a
difference because small streams make up a big one and that
is exactly the power of the peace movement.

The demonstrations will have no effect on the decisions.
Those decisions have already been made.....they are just
waiting for the fleet of warships to arrive in the region I
think!

even if bush can't give a fuck about the people of the world
i think we all must express our opinions.
everyone is against that war,i don't know anyone that wants
this war.

Do you not think Sadam Hussein needs to be stopped?

And do you think so many of you are against it because here
on the message board are of the age where they could be
conscripted into the war (worst case scenario).

i think the us is not far from a political suicide if the
strike iraq without the UN:s permission.

The rest of the world has the power to stop the us
government from fucking around. It just demands more radical
actions we've seen so far. I'm talking something in the
lines of boycott and other financial pressure...

The US 'will' go this alone regardless....George Bush is
gonna get them. Tony Blaire will always side with the US as
well. Both of our countries have deployed troops there....

A friend of mine, her son is in the army and is going to
Kuiwait on Monday.

war must never be the solution, so we must try any other
way.

ok:
more power to international laws, so that this crazy
governors (sadam, pinochet, milosevic....... bush) can be
put in prison if they break those international laws

international agreement

I think the UN should send a team of inspectors to the us.
They've got the largest amount of weapons of mass
destruction in the world and i doubt they would hesitate to
use them too.

And then the UN could give Iraq, Al Qaida, North-Korea etc.
permission to attack the us.

a recent poll given to various european nations asking which
nation, during this time of great tumult, was the greatest
global threat. the poll resulted as follows:

3. North Korea
2. Iraq
1. USA

hmm..

I was doing a bit of anti-war protesting a few months ago..
I realize the futility of it though. I love that people are
protesting this war.. but there is no chance for peace..
bush is going to get his way

Diplomacy has doen nothing to change the Iraqi regime over
the past 12 years. You can strengthen international law all
you like, but Saddam Hussein will just ignore, like he has
done for 12 years. Seriously, when do we say enough is
enough? When his family have ruled Iraq for a hundred years
and killed literally millions of their own people and
consigned the rest to perpetual poverty and suffering?

hussein is an aging dictator, attacking the US and
conquering the world are not items on his agenda. he has no
ties to bin Laden or al-qaeda. he's an arab nationalist ,
bin Laden is a fundamentalist muslim. they have , and wish
to share nothing in common. all "evidence" that contradicts
this is propaganda. yes, hussein killed his own people.. in
the mid-80's.. let's get off that, esp. considering
bush has put more people to death than any governor in the
history of texas. .. this is just a grudge match, W is
restarting what daddy couldn't finish.. a lot of people
forget that George H. W. Bush (or King George I) is the
president of the US right now.

Episode II: Clone of the Attack

...goddamnit

i never seem to remember sarcasm is never a good idea on the
internet.

i was merely pointing out the us is the most dangerous
country in the world. they are much bigger a threat to the
world than iraq or any other country for that matter. if
iraq isn't going to be allowed to defend itself, why should
us be?

If the Iraqi military want to defend Iraq, then I'm sure
they will have a go. We may well find that in the interests
of self-preservation very few of them do though.

and the US let him kill the Kurds..after egging the Kurds on
to revolt..
American planes were hovering overhead as the Iraqi
helicopters wiped out village after village..

Turkey is exterminating Kurds with no less exuberence and
they are getting more and more weapons and millitary aid
from the US and UK...

your prime minister is a hopeless case..I wouldnt trust him
as far as I could throw him and would advise you to do the
same..

after all his dossier that was his biggest case for war on
Iraq was a plagerism of a research paper written 10 years
ago by an Iraqi American student...

your own Intelligence agencies are going around negating his
line on the presumed links between iraq and Al Qaeda...

im totally agains war
but iraqi-if they really have that mas destruction
weapons-present a danger to world peace, and something
should be done-certanly not war though

when people compare US and their weapons to iraqi
situation:
its not nearly as dangerous that something might go wrong,
since it is a democratic country with ellected governament
on the other hand-saddam is a dictator, a very unpredictable
one, and someone should do something about it...

if iraqi really have these weapons, it should be destroyed,
but certanly not with starting a war...
