So what is the deal with Cat003? Untitled by Untitled? I
was having a look in my Caustic Window compilation booklet
and just wondered what this release was? I guess it's pretty
pants to wonder when we have all the new stuff to look
forward to but what is the deal with it? My curiosity is
killing my cat number.

Thats quite a witty little remark at the end of that
Spikee.

I think it was something done by Aphex but just as a promo,
that they didnt realease.

If it's unknown and on Rephlex it's that naughty Aphex Twin
messing with us eh?

I am looking forward to hearing the new stuff on Rephlex
like Lory D and DJ Scud but I always wanted to try and get
as much old Rephlex as possible (Regardless of who the
artist is) but it keeps dawning on me that I don't have a
cat in hells chance of doing this.

Do you think it would be a good idea for Rephlex to release
a compilation of old tracks from the first 10 cat numbers or
something one day? (One track from each?) Just like a kinda
'look at what we achieved back in the day' kind of thing?
I'd be happy to pay for a CD quality version of 'Bradley's
Beat' and buy loads more Rephlex at warpmart then spend £75
on an original vinyl and not be able to buy anything else
for a while. Plus if it had like 10 tracks from the
beginning of Rephlex that would keep me entertained for a
long time.

seems to be be the same format & amounts of cat003 pressed
than for cat002, some refers to it as IG88, like in the
universal indicators series
so good search to find this rephlex gem

It's all about the music for me. The reason I hunted down
every Richard D James release I could is because I know I'd
like it. Regardless of who released the first records on
Rephlex I'd still love to listen to them. It's not important
but as I say I'm intrigued to hear what musical direction
they had around that time. Rephlex have been releasing the
music I always wanted to hear but didn't know existed until
a few years ago. I wish I was there from the start.

Would a CD compilation of early Rephlex music be a good idea
or do y'all think it sucks ass as an idea? I know I would
love it as an alternative to me spending a shitload of cash
trying to get the old stuff and impulse buying utter SHITE
from other record labels around at the moment.

Still a lot of good stuff kicking around like. }:>

They kinda did do a thing of 'look what we accomplished'
with The Universal Indicator series megamix mixed by Kosmik
Komando and also with 'The Braindance Coincidence'. But it
would be nice if they did do a compilation of older stuff,
perhaps even re-realease Global Goon's 'Cradle of History'
album. There are some pure gems on that.

I have both of those CDs (and the original UI vinyls) but
the UI vinyls didn't have Cat numbers. The Braindance comp
is directed more toward the newer releases.

An early collection of the starting Cat numbers would be
bliss to my ears even if they didn't list any track titles
and hid what cat number they came from.

I thought the CAT numbers for the UI series were like MC202,
SH101, TB303, TR606

Not sure about compilations. I tend to favour straight-up
re-releases, and at the moment I'm hurting for a HAB repress
after listening to Children Talking last night (I've only
ever heard that and Laughable Butane Bob, as I'm harbouring
the delusion that I may one day have a legitimate copy).

*sighs* those are catalog numbers dude I was talking about
CAT numbers as in Cat001, Cat002, Cat003. What would be the
point in me asking for a re-release of something that has
been re-released?

this for me as an alternative? }:>

Bradley's beat has never been on CD (to my knowledge). The
point I was trying to make is a CD compilation of early Cat
tracks like this;

Track 1 - (A track from)Cat001
Track 2 - (A track from)Cat002
Track 3 - (A track from)Cat003 and so on...

Since I very much doubt rephlex would individually
re-release each Cat in its full original format would this
not be a good compromise? I'd cream for a CD comp like this,
fuck artwork and even fuck titles. Just a CD with this music
so it can live again instead of laying dormant and unused.
