9:00 was the last contact with the space shuttle that was
scheduled to land at 9:16 this morning at Kennedy

They are alerting people in TX to not approach any debris,
but to contact authorities.

There was 1 Israeli and 6 Americans on board

The interviewer on the news just asked of some NASA guy, did
they think it could have been a terrorist attack....

Hmmmmm.....I hope not....

I hope for the sake of the world it isn't terrorist related,
because the US will just fuck up the Middle-East big
time.....

Theyre really emphissising to stay away from the debree. The
fuel if inhaled, will form a membrane over the airsacks in
your lungs and you suffurcate within 48 hours.

I havent heard terrorism yet. Man, as soon as its mentioned
the apocolypse has begun.

Lets just hope that the space shuttle's accident and the
fact that it carried an Israelie astronaut are two seperate
and intangible elements.

Maybe this was a message from Ala, maybe this was set-up by
the US, maybe this was a terrost act from a terrorist
organization., maybe this was an act of terrorism by the
Israel.

The first Israeli astronaut in space. He was a hero in
Israel. He fought to keep nuclear facilities out of Iraq.
Then the space shuttle seemingly crumbles in the sky. Great
premise to declare terrorism and start pointing fingers.

i dont know what you're talking about

but if it's what i think it is -- there is no way it was a
"bombing" or an act of terrorism

According to president Bush, the shuttle's altitude of
200,000' make it "highly unlikely" that a terrorist attack
occurred.

God, this is horrible. And the Challenger anniversary was
just a few days ago too.

terrible stuff. an expert here says chances are the crew
actually survived quite a while because of the extremely
well constructed cabin part and didn't die until impact with
the ground... if that's true i can't imagine the hell they
must have went through :( :( they did find severed
limbs.............

in the challenger explosion, the crew survived the blast,
and their cabin felll like 20000 feet into the ocean, which
killed them.... so its possible they survived this explsion
and fell to their deaths.

but youd think... if they can protect the cabin like this...
cant they some how equip it for landing? i.e. parachuts or
something?

dunno.

Wasn't there already something wrong with that shuttle when
it took off? I just heard someone say on tv that they had
already noticed "something" on the wing when it took off,
but they thought it was just ice.

Spaceshuttle-flights have become so normal these days... it
has just become a routine for everyone involved, and someone
hasn't been paying enough attention. With the first flights
i imagine all the personel was probably much more alert.

It's a terrible thing though :-( Those astronauts must have
gone through hell.
