AFX Values & Mescalinum United

I dont know if anybody has seen the latest version of the
Record Collector Magazine (UK) Rare Record Price Guide -
2004 (bizarrely it is only 2003 but the book is called 2004)
- apologies if this has all been covered before..

Anyway amongst about 50 thousand other records it publishes
the recent values of afx records based on recent sales.. Not
that this is totally accurate in terms of what records are
going for on ebay (not that ebay is a fair indication of
value, just of what some real fans are willing to pay) - but
then again what is real value... philosophical stuff
aside..

But the two most valubale afx related items are Digeridoo CD
on R&S (worth about 85 quid) and the the Mescalinum United
single on R&S which it quotes as worth about 80 quid. This
is the single containing the two M.U remixes on Classics...

THis suprised me as I bought my copy of this record for only
5 quid about 10 years ago (IF ONLY ALL RECORDS INCREASED IN
VALUE AT THE RATE OF HUNDREDS OF PERCENT OVER A FEW YEASRS)

Anyway the point of this rambling post was that the book has
the correct catalogue number for the record but it is listed
as having only two tracks - QQT and TTQ mixes (as on
classics) - but the 12" I have has another track - does
anybody know what this is?

The book also says this record is sometimes also known as
PCP remixed. Anybody know anything about PCP or M.U or what
the mystery thrack is?

Thanx for any info...

the book is shit, i wouldn't wipe my arse with it. its not
even worth it as a rough guide. jack of all trades and
master of none.

Ok thanks for that - but do you know what the extra track
is...?

we've been promised a valued discography on xltronic, i'd
wait for that. but everyone has his or her own value of any
record so its about as subjective as you can get

Yeah I am not that bothered about value - just put that in
as a point of discussion - really just want to know about
the extra track, if anybody knows.

hmm... never heard of a third track... are you sure about
this?

The Belgian test pressing-only 12" for "We Have Arrived"
is also
referred to as "Mescalinum United - `PCP' - Aphex Twin
Remix".

PCP is the label for a few Mescalinum United releases.

Although this was meant to be released w. xltronic, here's
some info:

It is a limited edition (some say 300 copies, but for
sure it's limited) testpressing on the Belgian R&S label.
The record has only plain purple lables with no info and
comes in a paper innersleeve or just a black sleeve with no
info as well.
Some copies do have a little stamp on one side of the labels
which says: "Mescalinum United Remixes by Aphex Twin & The
Mover".
It was released in 1992 and it's releasenr is R&S
92019
.

A1. Mescalinum United - We Have Arrived (Aphex Twin QQT
Mix)
A2. Mescalinum United - We Have Arrived (Aphex Twin TTQ
Mix)
B1. Mescalinum United - We Have Arrived (The Mover Mix)

The person behind the Mover is the same person behind
Mescalinum United. It was the main man behind the PCP
(Planet Core Productions) label from Germany. This person is
Marc Acardipane.

There is also a new record coming up from Mescalinum United
- We Have Arrived. With remixes from Lory D., The Horrorist,
Manu Le Malin and Aphex Twin. It is most likely that the
remix from Aphex will be either the QQT mix or the TTQ mix.
The complete title for this record is: Mescalinum United -
We Have Arrived (Remixes 2002-2) and will be released on
Acardipane Records. The cataloguenumber for this one is
ACA2017.002/12

Info provided by Michel Gaasbeek.

The track I have is from the B side of the aphex remix
vinyl, but to my knowledge it was called the 2nd coming and
it wasn't another remix.

i was told that tom middleton was "planet core
productions/pcp" and because he was also co-producing
analogue bubble-bath and was the "schizophrenia" on
"entrance to exit" aphex did the 2 remixes in return. i am
not saying this is right but it is what i have heard from
various sources...
