I'm interested in getting some aboriginal music on 12".
Could you Aussies check what's available and contact me when
you've found something interesting....

CD's are OK as well.

I wonder if true aborigionals are into recorded sound... i
mean passing their history down via song and dance from
generation to geneartion is an integral part of their
culture.

interesting stuff

wow, that's quite a nich'e market your trying to find
phobia, I played d'nb at a local communtiy radio station
ages ago and whilst I remember aboriginal programmes being
hosted I never got the chance to see them cuttin it up on
the 1200's, I'd say it would be out there though, but it may
take a while to find,

Yeah, I know... living in Oz would be one great advantage.

Thanks for your help!

did you know they can actually "talk" through digeridoos? I
see them in town busking sometimes and if you flip them a
dollar they go "thankyou" and it sounds wicked! Like a
vocoder.

Worth it just to hear 'em say that.

that makes me feel like i'm in another time and place.

if you find cd's let me know titles....cos i'll order them
(if possible) from here. i also have FA friends that fly
with Qantas and maybe i can get them to get some for

oh thankyou.
i have about 200 online uploaded, so you've got a long way
to go!!!

hahah just kidding thankyou very much.

umm there's a fair bit of it about here, I'll keep my eyes
peeled for you, and I agree, the Digeridoo is a very wicked
instrument, it gets a bit atonal, but it makes an awesome
sound, that heavily enveloped drone, love it.

Oh yeah I heard this CD at one of those booths that had some
kind of almost breakbeat indiginous music, total digeridoo
stabs and these wicked tribal punchy rhythms and shit,
totally cool.

If I see it I might buy it and put it up on hackmode or sumn
for pl to d/l (it's a pain the the ass mailing stuff around
the world sorry)

Phobia..try Yothu Yindi..not quite authentic, out and out
aboriginal music..but it's damn good..mixes in rock and
techno and tons of Digerido and chanting...live they are
incredible (I havealas only seen vids of it)and chanting etc
to their music..plus..the best thing about Yothu Yindi is
that it should be easily avialable..I belive they are a bit
of an OZ/Aboriginal Institution...

another album that comes to mind is the one Steve
Reich..did...with Aboriginal Musicians..in the outback..that
was my first exposure to the wonders of Digerido...
