Saw this movie yesterday

An really good one, I like how it's played backwards, a lot
of twists.

I recomend it, really really good movie

hmmm, didn't the director win an oscar for that, for best
new director? Or was that an MTV movie award?

heh, big difference in awards there... :)

Memento sucks. IT is HIGHLY overated.
The script is good, but the acting sucks

i thought it was good before it got blown out of proportion.
it was in indie theaters and then when it hit video stores
people began to hear of it and basically ruined it for me.
i mean its good but not THAT good. i think this film caused
him (nolan) to create that not nearly as good bigger studio
movie insomnia. if memento hadnt gotten famous i bet his
film would have been better. just a thought.

hm. speaking for myself, it's just the way i perceived that
movie: i liked it. the fact that many others liked it too or
not doesn't really matter.

it was a really clever movie, i was often amazed by how well
everything was thought out.

But behind it's cleverness lies nothing more than a pretty
standard thriller... i loved the movie whilst watching it,
but i felt dissapointed afterwards... if that makes any
sense

the "style over substance" debate.

its a thriller, beautifully told.

thrillers hardly have much substance, is what I'm trying to
say. nothing wrong with that.

okay... good point. I guess i watched it with the wrong
expectations. If i would have gone in there expecting to see
a thriller, i would have been pleased.

But the movie was so hyped, i guess i was expecting a little
more. If it would have been a deep & meaningful story, told
just as beautifully... it could have been a masterpiece!

a great movie! We studied it in psychology class.

one question that you should ask yourself:
he can't remember anything AFTER the 'incident', so
therefore how does he know that he has this condition and
that he must write everything down?

we looked at it quite a lot :-/ maybe too much!

a good film, none the less

well thing is, it does have more substance..

its all about memory. how memory works, how it shapes us,
how our personalities fall apart without memories.

wasn't it something like, it didn't set in immediately after
the incident..?

can't remember, have it on video though.

yeah, i agree with you there qrter. The film shows us how
important our memory is to us, and how we - in some ways -
are different from animals.

just imagine, not having memories.

whats left of you?

anyway, this subject has been explored in lots of films and
especially in plays..

at the start of the film, you see the end, without knowing
what has lead/caused this. You dont even know that the film
is going in reverse, it's only when we see the end of the
film that we can piece together all that has happened, as if
we were rebuilding our memory - i think that that is really
well though out and well put together, with each parts of
the story dove-tailing.

All the way through i kept thinking of 'groundhog day'
though, lol. oh well. It's 1:15 in the morning here, and
I've got school tomorrow (today!). Night night
