That mysterious 2 live disk album from Radiohead

Sarah McLachlan, shes awesome but after her baby and the
death of her mother she hasnt done anything. You would think
after those two things she might have something to sing
about.

I finally got access to DJ Shadow's Endtroducing. I had the
private press but i heard good things about the older album,
and I like it.

I've also been listening to the soundtrack to Bjork's Dancer

you listen to parallel universe on the b?

so what's this "do you know []<" really like? i only
listened to the real files on warp, so that's not really
anything to go by, but it didn't really overwhelm me ??

It's sunny for a change. I have two new kittens in my pack
now, so I think they'll like the nice weather. Other than
that, the political agony continues. Not that I care that
much about it.

Two new kittens eh? nice.

listening to the kid at the moment, - i'd say the only one
i'm a little unsure about is the minogue number [with a bit
of time perhaps?] .. other than that great stuff

Just finished reading that revue

"By the same token, this set is disappointing not because I
don't understand his methodology, but because the results
simply aren't terribly engaging."

:) ...

I agree, he's barely tackled the Minogue track. That can
mean one (or all) of the following:

- he's acknowledging that this is the perfect pop song and
wouldn't want to mess with it
- he's secretly in love with KM (Hey, if she was good ehough
for Nick Cave, why shouldn't she do it for a Colombian
laptop wrecker)
- he actually wants to reach new audience aside from IDM
ghetto.

I played that song on a party where I mostly played fatass
hiphop and punkrock and everyone went apeshit...

Hehe, the last track that you mentioned n one of the
previous emails, the one where he butchers Radiohead. That
one is fantastic.. Plus the name "This is not my statement",
he is god!!!

That review is dead on the money. The live disc is bullshit:
like listening to Go Plastic from another room with japanese
people cheering between songs... All the fine detail that
made Go Plastic good is missing and it doesn't have
adrenaline rush that I imagine it has in the flesh. The
studio disc is better, some tracks are fantastic, but still
has some filler...

offline korben dallas from nz on 2002-10-02 04:53 [#00389887]
Points: 4605 Status: Regular

Yeah, that last one is perfect .. brilliant .. the beat box
beats ..

track 4 (missy elliot et al.) is pretty entertaining ..
what's the name of that 80's track at the end following
Osbourne's little interlude (i know horrible of me to
forget), but that is just genius with the jungle rhythm ..
made me laugh.

offline korben dallas from nz on 2002-10-02 04:56 [#00389888]
Points: 4605 Status: Regular

Yeah .. Go plastic was fantastic :)

Some of the new tunes have some lovely percussion (ie. with
lots of granulated stuff - i hear he just acquired this
5000-6000$ or pound hardware real time granulator unit?),
I'm just a bit unsure about the bass/melody components in
some of them. Almost as if he feels he needs to use
his bass guitar? dunno .. pretty premature comments on the
whole
