sweet.

No man, play Echoes on repeat!!!

Very important to skip San Tropez and Seamus, in my opinion.

I like Animals, even though they didn't write a song about
whales!

Animals is their last good album.

what if pink floyd in their prime (pick your favorite album)
were magically transported to 2002, do you think they'd make
an idm-ish album or do you think they'd sound like
radiohead?

good question......depends actually IF GILMORE were in
CHARGE i'd say IDM definately.....just based on some of his
solo stuff

if WATERS were in charge perhaps more towards Radiohead

i wish they'd get over their disagreements and get together
and make music together again AS pink floyd!!

they're too old to rock now, look at the rolling stones,
they're incapable of anything creative now

They're a tired old parody of themselves... arena rock
nobodies. I hate how old bands soil their sparkling image
like that.

But I love the Floyd, right up till the Wall... maybe my
favorite artists EVER other than the Beatles. Gilmour has
the voice, the chops, the looks (purr)... damn that Roger.
Wish he would have at least let Dave sing everything.

Please don't link Waters with Pretentious wanks like
Radiohead LeCoeur... he's depressed enough without your
slurs on him. BRING BACK SYD!!!

I've not heard any of Gilmour's solo stuff, but wasn't
Waters the one noodling around with the electronics?

(I base this on the Live At Pompeii video)

hahah

i think you're the first to be a GILMORE fan like
moi....most say WATERS is da man.......ohhhh how i
disagree!!

tits you're prolly right about the 'too old to rock' it just
irritates me that they start fighting during their prime and
we miss out on all ze music

*slaps ninja silly......DOOD i'm gonna tie you up and make
you listen to Radiohead for 24 hours until you recant and
admit how much your REALLY love them* muahahhahah

Without Roger Waters, Pink Floyd post-SYD would just be
guitar soloes and dull synth lines!

And hey! I love the song "creep"!

Waters was floyd, i mean towards the end and all. By this i
mean he wrote most of the material, or at least thats how
the credits read today... I can't really comment to much on
their solo careers seeing how i haven't heard anything they
put out aside from floyd.

Its funny how most of their music is based upon
communicating w/ each other and what happens when we
don't...or sometimes do. Figures they'd be in a pissing
match after all these years.

i think the track listing for echoe's the best of set is the
only thing they've all agreed on in the last 10-20 years.
I'd love to see them reunite...but i think their time has
come and gone.

i don't like the Gilmore Floyd, i admire him and the other 2
for trying to keep the group alive, but its dead so long as
roger's not around.

I think the wall was their last great album, but i'm not
sure what year animals came, before or after...so sue me

jeez, to reprezent syd you choose a throwaway pop song,
which had to be changed anyway, to be accepted by the BBC et
al back in 67

I would of liked to see what Syd could have done had he not
lost his poor fucking mind on acid. But I think getting
Gilmour was for the best, I love serious direction they took
even more than the... wacky direction they WERE taking.

Here's a nice page about Syd B.

I know, but they had to change See Emily Play too.

Ophecks, by all accounts of people who knew him well, his
mind was fragile before he took acid anyways, and they
suspect the acid only sped up the process of mental
breakdown.

"See Emily Play" was re-named for a regular of the UFO club
where The Pink Floyd had some of their earliest shows.

The underground UFOers weren't exactly fans of the Pink
Floyd Pop Songs... See Emily Play was still changed for the
BBC
