I've also been intrigued by them but don't know which album
to go with. Any recommendations?

I borrowed their cd's from the library, and all I can
remember is that I didn't like them.

...but that was like..2 years ago.

quiete interestin band they re.
thay had some electronica influences on thair last album-
"standards"

you shoud check out this one.

offline MachineofGod from the land of halo's (United States) on 2002-07-30 17:35 [#00330757]
Points: 3088 Status: Lurker

Standards = best(most electronic of all of em)
TNT=good as well
Millions now living will never die (decent, sounds not as
good once hearing standards)
Self Titled(Excellent as well)

I say get em all, also if you like Tortoise check out the
Sea and Cake and Isotope 217

I only know one track by them "Night Air" and this one sucks
so much, its almost funny......

TNT & Standards is all you need. MachineofGod speaks highly
of s/t and from what I've heard off it, it sounds pretty
good as well.

i heard Self titled 1st so Standards didnt really mess up my
view of it. its best if you go in order, Im sure youll like
Millions now living and Tnt more that way too.

I only have Standards and Millions Now Living Will Never
Die.
I think Standards is better, but Millions Now Living... is
worth a shot aswell, because I think Djed is one of the
greatest tracks ever! It's phenomenal.

tnt is the best lp that they have ever done. its not as
electronic as standards, but what difference does that make
anyway?? buy buy buy!!!

there is also a track called 'Gamera' which is a real
killer. Originally released as a 12" you can also find it on
the Japanese rerelease CD of 'Millions now living...'

Some years ago I sam Tortoise with Salaryman & Mouse on
Mars. In the end all bands jammed together on stage.
Everybody improvised on every instrument available. That was
a magic moment!

funny! I also thought about the getting pushed by
Squarepusher incident.

And I couldn't help myself thinking about Pomme de Terre
being pushed around by Tortoise.

Naaaaaa! They are nice chaps!
