LIVE ELECTRONICA STORY

THE SETTING
a pub in dublin that hosts live electronica every sunday
night followed by a dj

WHY I WAS THERE:
my freind Col was djing after the main act PLUs you see the
best once off shit dublin has to offer PLUS you can have a
smoke no hassle

WHO ELSE WAS THERE:
Me, and Col's work mates and housemates whom i met before
and they all seemed like reasonable people

WHAT HAPPENED??????
Well, i arrived just as the live act were starting . 2 guys
on laptops and a guy on an organ/synth type thing. Straight
away i was blown away, barely able to get a pint or skin up
or catch up with Col. They were like Squarepusher and
Phonecia and autechre rolled into one!!! Just pure
class...melodic, glitchy, beaty, bassy

THAT SOUNDS ALRIGHT, WHATS THE STORY THOUGH????????
Everyone of Cols mates were extremely pissed off!!...I
couldn't believe, they saw a new face arrive and were hoping
i'd join them in their mob-like music-bashing whisper
fucking conversation - "i don't mund experimentation but
hios is rediculous", "i hope col doesn't play this
shit"...."how is that dance music??"
I was well and truely ASTOUNDED!!!

WHAT DID YOU DO??
Argued to deaf ears...(and i do mean DEAF) and went up and
chatted to the band. MADNESS!!!!!!!! (Col played 'easier'
music afterwards)

That sounds awesome, don't worry about deaf ears, they are
everywhere. Did Col dislike it too?

Don't give up on the braindance DJ idea, get it together,
that ought to kick ass.

I want to start an electronic/idm/braindance club here in
the city. Realistically though I thinhk it would just be me
and my few friends who like electronica listening to records
in my living room =)
