you might as well just but the caustic window compilation
(it includes all the tracks on it I think) and save $205!

you mean $305!

compilation...

well, it's one of the rarest afx releases for sure... but I
never thought it would reach $320 USD. I only paid $150 for
mine. ;)

Yep, this is without doubt the rarest afx-releases. Only 300
of this in existance.

Is there a release more rare than that? Maybe Q-chastic EP,
but it doesn't exist.

ABB5, the sandpaper promo, etc...

offline artemis from Ghent (Belgium) on 2002-06-12 09:50 [#00261843]
Points: 667 Status: Lurker

OH yes, that's right. But there are also i think 300 of AB5
in existance. Not sure about this.

Points: 5975 Status: Moderator | Show recordbag

The ABB5 promo is a fake....

4 copies were made and 1 was then used to create the 500
promos...this was the reason it was never released...

This is from a 100% reliable source (1 of the guys who did
the pirateing)....so anyone who tells you they have one is
sadly mistaken, I'm afraid...

same goes for the ART compilation...

I know of one enterprising soul who had 100 manufactured &
shrink-wrapped etc...so looks 99% the same as usual...

then are then selling for huge prices on ebay....

check it for yourself...the same guy has been selling "his
last copy" for the last 12 months....everytime getting big
bucks...

good idea...tempted to do so mayself...;)....

offline artemis from Ghent (Belgium) on 2002-06-12 10:31 [#00261875]

I am a very lucky owner of that ART-compilation. Holy shit
bye the way!

hope you bought it not via ebay....

nothing wrong with the duplicate versions but it's kinda
dis-honest of the guy to do this....

I thought it was strange that that's been on there for
ages!

How do you know for sure though?

offline artemis from Ghent (Belgium) on 2002-06-12 12:51 [#00262012]
Points: 667 Status: Lurker

No, it was not on ebay, i have bought it a while ago.

The guy sells "his last copy" every month...

When I narrowly missed winning, he sent me a mail saying he
actually had annother identical one and would I like to buy
that....not that suspious, I guess...altho, considering the
price it went for on ebay (~£90), he'd offer it to me for
£20...odd to my mind...

Also...

the same email went out a friend who also bidded (& lost by
$50) in the auction the month after...

Seems to me that it wouldn't be diifcult to get 100 copies
of this made...seeing as it's in very high-demand(see
prices) and no-one is likely to catch em at it....

Just sounds a little fishy to me...

plus EBAY has a tip for buyer to beware of sellers that send
you emails after the auction offering the same goods...too
much room for fraud...

This is only conjecture..I have no proof but reading the
above, you can see why I'd steer clear...

Sadly enough I could have almost deffinetly got it cheaper I
know I could have on vinyl but on CD its harder to find I
believe...but it was Powerpill Pacman.

well, regardless of the price, it's the best feeling to own
a copy of something rare...

Especially rare AFX....part of musical history and the mark
of a true fan.....

That sounded good.

Pacman: It's a horrible bad record! About the guy on ebay,
how much ART-cd's he has sold last year? 10? 20? It must be
fake because otherwise he had more than 1% of all ART2CD's
in the world, there are only 1000 in existance. Fan of this
kind of music download it while you can, it's my absolute
fav!!!

Well...I know own every CD of Richard D. James's releases,
that is just cd's of course now i need to by a turntable and
start on the vinyl...i have xylem tube but thats the only
vinyl...and I guess you could say I dont have every cd
because I dont have the U.K. version of RDJ album...i dont
have the windowlicker version with the demo cut on it and i
dont have the windowlicker with the cover that is RDJ on the
womans body who is bending over slightly towards the
camera...oh well those will be bought soon enough.

now that was a bargain....nice little thing to have & at
that price who can say no.....

that had I seen it.

Jand, is it really. Pacman exists also on tape??!! It must
be rarer as the CD.

Jand...I'm not completely sure but I think there is a good
chance you got ripped off...even though it was only 3
pounds...i think that person may have made a fake...what did
the wise Phobiazero have to say about it?

It was in the charts in the UK and CASSINGLES were pretty
popular...

used to buy a lot of em myself....

Even some old R&S stuff....

If it's a fake then £3 seems a lot of trouble to go to on
behalf of the seller....we'll see, I'll let you know when it
arrives...
