BUTTOCKS!!! I can't believe Spiderman and his homemade tights outdid Anakin and his nike speedo. Oh well. And being serious, if you all didn't know this, this is the FIRST starwars that didn't top the box office in the first week or something. Heard it on the news. Lets hope people get back into things for Episode 3: Gungan Flushes |

I HATE computer effects... Spiderman looks like a little toy or something... As for Star Wars... What's with the TOTAL lack of charisma and talent on the actor's parts? Holy christ... Luke was wide eyed and enthusiastic, Leia was a bad ass princess, Han Solo is just the EPITOME of coolness... etc etc. These new guy's got NUTHIN'... it's like cardboard cut outs plastered onto a glossy computer animated children's universe. Could Portman and Neeson and the rest of them be any less likeable... Get Harrison Ford back in there! This Hayden Chritensen guy is just another pretty face with nothing to make him stand out other than his cheekbones... get some hairy chested Han Solo coolness back in there. |

well, i know you all disagree. but i loved the new star wars. yes the acting was bad... but i dont care, it looked cool, and the story was good. i want to know what happened, even if it is delivered badly. but starwars was never full of great acting before either. sure, its better, but it never was oscar quality. spiderman was good, but no where as near as good as starwars the whole goblin costum was just dumb. and spiderman looked fake when he was in his suit. it was obviously computor generated. thats just my thoughts... -Zeus |

Episode II beat out SpiderMan in its second week of release by about $6million Episode II $20m Spiderman $14m so yes, that makes the topic of this thread completely incorrect |

Changed my mind about Spiderman, I just saw it, and it is fucking AWESOME. The effects were a bit overdone, no need to be so disorienting during the web swinging, fuck, but the whole Peter Parker geek-turned hero thing was awesome. Kirsten Dunst is cute! *giggle |

I thought Episode II would be the first epic scale film of the prequels if it would have just had good acting. The plot, action, and CGI were all there, just the acting dragged the film along. I was so saddened by that because I love the starwars universe. =/ |

spiderman ... everything was good but the cliched romance between kirsten dunst (mmmm) and tobey maguire. i happened to LIKE the special effects of him web slinging. i felt like it was a comic book. and i would have loved it if they actually let sam raimi direct it. star wars. bad ass once you get past the fine portrayal of wood that the actors give us. AND C'MON! NATALIE PORTMAN! IN THE WHITE GET UP FOR THE LAST HALF OF THE MOVIE! and the yoda fight scene was ... surreal. it was cool, but seemed ... wrong. |

Anakin dude is sooo anoying. The acting is awful, the dialogues are retarded, the story is moronic. On the positive side, Ewan McGregor has, for change been good in a movie Spiderman was waay better than I expected. The love story is a bit overdone, but the ending kinda balances that out. Not a perfect movie, but better than any superhero movie I can think of. |
