Maybe this question has been asked before, but how is it
possible that when I try to upload an avatar it says
"inappropriate file type"? I get this message when uploading
standard bmp/jpg files. Is it an error or have I done
something wrong?

you cant upload photos with sunglasses... it does not accept
that. sorry :-/

I have uploaded pictures before while wearing a
cheetah-print-thong and that was NOT a problem....

is your file to big? either size? or file size?

it's just a 24-bit bmp/jpg (I tried both file formats)
resized to 60x80. should be OK right?

What are you making the file in? Becuase if your using the
extension .gif, or .jpg it should work ONLY if it is
actually one of the two. If your making a pic or editing one
in Scanner programs, adobe programs and such, sometimes you
wont save it or convert it to jpg or gif. Thats all I can
think of and all that could really be wrong.

yeah it was a scanned pic (hp precisionscan) converted to
jpg with adobe photoshop.

it's weird amonbrune has the same problem

yeah, only gif or jpg are allowed. what does your new pic
look like? a guy in sunglasses?

it works with a crappy GIF (hence the weird colours, but I
like it this way too). doesn't work with JPGs though...:(

i think it also depends on the paint program(me)s you're
