don't you find some of his new stuff (for example "my
fucking sound" thing) to be just a crazy noise? i had some
problems with accustoming to "go plastic" tracks but some of
them will sound shitty for me forever, i think

yes i do.

"exploding psychology" is great but some tracks sound as a
children playing with too powerfull sound-tools. Maybe
computers took control of Jenkinson mind?

I've got a feeling that Go Plastic was the end of a certain
era for SQPR...feels like he's taken his sound pretty much
as far as he can take it...

I'm soooo hoping that AFX + SQPR work on some more stuff
together for the MEN label...that Freeman, Hardy & Willis
Acid track on the Warp100 comp is one of my fave collabs...

AFX isn't, I guess, that into doing collabs with people but
can't help feeling that without TomJ, AFX's current sound
would be a lot difference...

Everyone needs a kick up the arse sometimes and I think AFX
got that when SQPR came along....

I'm a huge fan of them both but I really don't want to see
them do collaborations...I think these guys work best on
their own possibly

As for My Fucking Sound...yes, I think its shit and parts of
GP are genius, but that's the way he works, I don't care, as
along as he pumps out amazing tracks occasionally!

you gotta admit, track 6 on go plastic is top drum and
bass.
and the tune on the braindance (chaos AD squarepusher mix)
is the creme dela bollocks!!

yeah, sixth track on "go plastic" is old good drum'n'bass.
Although "go plastic" is in the shadow of Jenkinson's new
software and equipment.

I like Go Plastic a lot. I hope he makes more ridiculous
music. The more intense, the better, imo.

yeah...in a recent interview aphex said he would like to
collaborate with tom...but they werent using the same
program yet...he said they were setting it up so they could
work together over the internet or something...same with
luke vibert

and yeah...i think go plastic was the result of tom
exploring new equipment...while trying to achieve a real
'brutal digital sound' as he said in an interview a while
ago

Go Plastic Fucking Rules, My Fucking Sound is the only bad
track. I Wish You Could talk is pretty weak, as far as Tom
Jenkinson goes...

my fucking sound = the first ambient drill 'n' bass track.
go plastic's great, 'cause it shows innovation not just on
the technical side, but in song structure as well. I could
go on, but reasoning doesn't make you like music. just
listen some more, you'll come around eventually.

i used to play track 5 in my car all the time on top
volume(only w/passengers involved)...and whenever the long
brutal generator-like noise came about(you know what i'd
talking about) i'd act as if my car was about to explode and
i'd get them in a scared panic for a few seconds.

really funny. confuses people

also, when i'm driving alone and a car pulls up next to
me...the song does it's justice

MY FUCKING SOUND.....is pure genious.

it took a while for me but when i hear the opening
now.......i enter a real alien state of anticipation that
few tracks do for me..waiting for those violent 'dongs'

What clinched this tune for me is one of the warp radio sets
where the guy mixes it with Boc....A-FUCKING-MAZING

As for the rest? a reviewer said it well when he said tom
seems to jump to the year 3000ad, get the best riffs, hooks
etc and bring 'em back and slap it all together.
Red hot car = catchy tune = album opener to reel you in to
the craziness....
BRILLIANT..OUT-THERE - UNIQUE

go plastic is really nice. sounds like a sweet mix of the
darker freejazz era pusher and earlier stuff. really nice,
on constant rotation.

especially the climax on greenways trajectory are ace...the
beats are so neatly packed together they sound like some
listening test high frequency tones...brilliant.

did i mention before that when i saw him live in dublin last
year, he apparently got into a scrap with the promoters and
a week later he didn't play at Sonar cos "he was sick"
according to a warp rep i met there.
Did the fight put him off? then Cylob played here a few
weeks after that and i met him and asked him, being a
braindancer too "whatever happend to tom in barcelona?" and
he said "he was too busy making a track to bother leaving
his hotel"...sounds a bit too much what the-fans-wann-hear
to me, that.

anyway it's a fact that he's known to be a stubborn, narky
kinda guy......aw well...he's artist that speaks to me most
so who cares anyway!
