Dont buy them unless you want a serious head fuck, they are
warped, out of time, distorted melody, totally crazy.......

Actually, there are topics on this every three weeks or so,
so anyone interested in these 3"s should just browse the
board to get a bunch of opinions on it. Most people think
they are crap but I like them. I guess I'm not madly in love
with AFX the way the rest are.

not worth getting imo. i hate the whole concept. remixing
afx tracks without permission and then sell them. lame.

too right, i like a bit of mentalness as much as the next
guy but these tunes have absolutely no sense of structure,
it sounds as tho a monkey has sat on the mixing desk, during
remixing, seriously poo

Yep. I've got them both, the only AFX related purchase I've
regretted. Still, as sad as it sounds, I'm glad I got them
purely for the resale value (they were limited to a few
thousand copies).

Phob: Make your own one- release all the fan remixes from
here on CD without Richard's or the remixers' permission ;)

buying them awhile back, but i think ill hold off for now...

I like them. They are free and often funny and some of them
really bring up some parts of AFX's tracks that you would
normally ignore. But suit yourself...

What are the 3"?? I don't understand.

3" means 3 inch. They're like normal CDs, just smaller.

Seeing as you defended them, I decided to give them another
listen. They're not as bad as I recall actually...
Still, hardly the best music in the world.

well, it is a"reactive art" as Nietzsche would call it so it
strongly corresponds with something outside the actual work
of art, in this case with the original AFX tunes. But some
of these tracks are just jokes and some have a life of their
own and are quite good. The whole point is that some of
these tracks IMO can stand on their own two feet which can
not be said for most "reactive art". Kid 606's new album
(there was a topic on this some days ago) is another
example: some tracks are excellent and despite the fact that
they are reworkings of someone else'e works, they have
essential qualities that give them "a right to live" and
I'll be listening to them in years to come. Other are just
pissings on popular tunes, without lasting power beyond
initial laughing... My point about v/vm is that they (he
actually, as it is only Kirby at the moment I think) are
being extremely fair: after desecrating popular family
tunes, christmass songs, britney spears etc., they decided
to turn the sniper toward the "community" itself and that is
excellent to me. If we're going to take a piss, we should
take a piss even at ourselves. AFX is enough of a pop-icon
to be treated this way and the fact that they did these two
3"s confirms his status. I just can't believe how people on
this MB get pissed every time somebody mentiones these EPs

I'm not pissed, I just don't like them and don't see why I
should

Meho, your GF is pretty sick if she's holding a dead cat in
that photo ;)

I get what you're saying about v/vm too. In which of
Nietschze's works does he talk about reactive art (I'm
pretty certain I've heard that term before, it may have been
in the original texts or a critique of his work).
