Yo, I've been dj'ing for a few months now, i started out on
GAY ASS TRANCE, becuase it's butt easy, then house to please
the crowd, and then into progressive -- I've even started
to dabble with other shit, like mixing enya against a hard
beat...

but everytime one of my afx cd's goes into one my cdj's, i
just say to myself, "why am i fucking around?" but only my
one friend nick who love afx, even notices the fact that i'm
looping, splicing all this shit into one song...

is there anyone else out there who feels me pain?

What's gay "ass trance"?

I'm remixing avril 14th at the moment. Takes a long time,
but it's good...

crappy dance music

i dont EXACTLY feel ur pain.... but i feel a related pain:
no one plays good electronic music (not dance).... well,
anywhere
so the only place i can here it is at home
alone

not that i go to clubs/parties/raves anyway, cus they dont
play any music i like!
i couldn't stand listening to crappy dance music for a few
hours..... even if it meant hot girls and socializing

I've been offered a DJ spot at a local club which would
preface a rock night at a large club (3000 people ish)
opposite my venue... I'm aiming at a rock/IDM style... but I
mean, mixing dancefloor fillers with AFX is tough, cause at
the end of the day, you just can't dance to AFX

i feel ur pain...i have to dumb down afx to crowds, add
beats, mix /w other tracks, and even when i do that many ppl
don't like...

i need to get me some decksandrumsandrockandroll. err..
decks. i already have the music to move the crowd, and
that'd get me cred (hahh). maybe some year. for now i'm
happy with my 98% cd-based radio show!

how many goddam DJs are there on this stinking board?!?! i
used to be a wikked ambient DJ -- man, the way i faded one
bubbling-brook track into a fizzling-seashore track was
sublime!

to the people in this discussion who DON"T like the music at
these raves. I suggest you triple your dosage of narcotics
at least one hour before attending said raves
