Xanatos : indeed... it reminds me of that "schrödinger cat" thing... you can't know if the cat if dead or alive when the box is closed, so the cat is dead AND alive... would the tree make a sound AND make no sound then? |

schrödinger cat-- I have to read that I'm not really familiar yet, but I know about it. The idea is, look at your keyboard, then close your eyes. Ask yourself if the keyboard is still there. You will out of reflex touch the keyboard, and say yup, it's still there even though I can't see it. But what if your sense of touch was turned off too? How can you really prove it exists if you can't sense it? You know it used to exist, but while it is not being sensed, it doesn't really exist. The sound of the tree is just a bunch of vibrations unless peceived by ears. The whole world around us is just a vibration of energies, which only manifest themselves as the things we think they exist to be, once they are perceived by us. Until then, they are nothing. |

That tree thing is dumb. Of course it makes a sound, it creates sound waves. So it makes a sound regardless if anybody hears it or not. |
