hi, it would be good as some sort of tactical turn based
mech themed game music, since it is is chill "background"
music meaning you can concentrate on other game stuff while
listening to it rather than it being in your face tricky idm
demanding all your attention.

LAZY_not background but foreground. I’d spin this in a car or house anyday!

I think I lost it for a while like always, but for the rest
it was a quite harmonic process and wasn't unnerving at all

I'm glad you're making tunes again! I've listened to this a
few times with headphones and desktop speaks.

I really enjoy the ambient loop when you get all 3 main
elements going together. At that point it sorta sounds like
93' AFX. And the beat sounds like 93' AE/Gescom. I enjoy the
drum pattern variations throughout the second half.

A couple notes if you wanna bust out with a v5.1:

1. something weird happens to the pads at 0:59. A strange
reset and volume discrepancy. I've noticed it every time.
Run it back a little and see if you can hear it. Me? I'd
probably simply delete those two bars and see how the track
feels. Something going on there tho.

2. It pretty much dials in when you add the third layer to
the ambient pads and switch the beat up at 1:13. It's gravy
from there. But the initial drums in the very beginning are
a bit sharp in the mix, especially the kick. Lowpass filter
and a touch more reverb? The snares are already a bit verby,
but they're very very bright. I dunno, lot of ways to go
there. A slight cabinet effect would probably be pretty
sweet there in the lead up too. No need to go as far as
Ventolin Marazanvose Mix, but a % of that effect might soften the
initial drum takeoff.

1. got what you hear at 0:59, yes in general the pad notes
weren't given much attention, in that particular part I
'played' on the laptop keyboard (I have a small Akai midi
keyboard but the Mac has a newer usb port so its no use
until I search for an adaptor) a longer note that I adjusted
not very professionally, will take care of them in the final
version. thanks for the heads up

got what you hear about the drums, in this they
are more subtle, its this what you're saying? didn't add any
effect this time, what you hear is the lone sound of the
drum machine, I just composed the beat itself, completely by
hand

"Mohamed Fouad" is jammin! got my head nodding at least. I
grew up around a lot of Persians. I seriously enjoyed a lot
of their food and music and their company, so this takes me
back a bit. But in the end as far as Mohameds go, I prefer
your style overall. You've got this loopy, dark, desolate
ambient thing going, and I'm all for it.

I really enjoyed this Techno Intrigue track. Obviously, I'm
not a professional at all. Only credit I give myself is an
actual attention span and decent ear, probably trained and
tweaked by psychedelics. Tecno Intrigue has a less abrasive
percussive launch than Emptyness v5, for sure. There has to
be more than 1000 ways to iterate on your track.

By 1:18 in Emptyness, i'm feeling the whole thing. It's just
the initial drums that come on very strongly in the mix. I
don't have an official, understood vernacular to describe
what I mean by "I wish it was a bit softer." instead I have
little paths I might try to take (some would work, some
wouldn't). Techno Intrigue IS softer in the drums, but it's
very hard to say those exact effects are right in the new
track. I like where it ends up when it gets cooking, but the
beat (and especially) the bright, cloppy kick drum are
battling with the pads a bit. There are so many ways to
attempt to ease the drums in. I'd try

simply starting at a lower volume on the drums overall, and
fading them in over time. this is stylistically my choice
usually, but here, I think some effects are also probably
needed, possibly stuff like-
a low freq eq filter and reverb
and cabinet stuff, if you have access to any (I like this
chicago amp from NI, it's quite sick).
or maybe do exactly what you did with Techno Intrigue! I'd
have to play with it all myself to say for sure.

And if any of this sounds like I'm in poo pooing the track,
I'm not! There's such a psychological incentive to zero in
on only the most critical note. Emptyness is like a lost
AFX/AE collab from 30 ye

many thanks! doesn't sound like you're poo pooing the track,
I think I'll try that fading technique you're talking about!
