Been enjoying Chimay lately. Nice kick for the cool
season.

Treating myself to either a London Porter or a Guinness
later this eve

Chimay is alright. Kwak is a fave but not to drink often.
Belgium is a good place for beer, though I'm not one for
Stella unless I have to (in which case it's fine). Sorry
Hanal! ; )

I enjoy bitterness in beer and can't stand most of the big
brands' insipid idea of a 'people beer'. Bitter and stouts
are my faves, and for that I really miss living in the UK.

Someone really into his beer once told me you should be able
to taste the beer when you burp it or it's garbage. When I
burp Heineken I just get acid reflux.

Sorry, blog/epicmegatracks post.

I can't remember if I can legally drink so I keep hitting
'no'. I'm getting nowhere.

Les bières 'de' Robert Charlebois sont pas mauvaises, and
distribute a really lovely warm buzz. Maudite, Fin
du Monde
, and Don de Dieu are some of the best
(very) strong ales I've had the pleasure to drink. I tend to
stay away from ales with really high alcoholic content as
they usually taste like Heineken with added bile whisky.

I want to try that.

Brasseur De Montréal Ghosttown Stout is pretty lovely.
Amazingly aromatic and intoxicating.

Another decent strong ale is:

http://www.schneider-weisse.de/index.php?lang=en&tpl=brauer
ei.spezialitaeten.aven

pushes the limits pretty close for a strong wheat. i have it
maybe annually

bender intonation: beer, beer, beer ,beer
be be be be be beer, beer, beer,
eh, wheres my free beer?

LAZY_LAMBIC_GUEUZE
usually by mort subite, but i happily try any lambic
and im also quite fond of all sorts of ginger beers.
generally, smooth ales, german altbier etc come in next.

cant lure me into a bitter or tasteless pilsener beer, bah,
not even if i was paid for drinking it.
rather stay sober at locations only serving those.
typically you wont get anything else on most festivals,
so its either "smuggle your own stuff" or stay sober,
which is the better option anyways.
saves plenty of money in the wallet
for CD/LP merchants too :)
aaand dancing without is way more fun aswell .-)

etymology of gueuze:
"There is some debate on where the word Gueuze originated.
One theory is that it originated from Geysa (geyser), old
Norse for gush, as, during times of vigorous fermentation,
Gueuze will spew out of the bunghole of its enclosing oak
barrel."

Efes Pilsen

ROCKS HARD! BEST BEER EVER. Incredibly expensive now in my
country thanks to - you guess it - erdogan that piece of
shit.

Others I love:
Guiness (Ireland)
Kilkenny (Ireland) -> expensive Import beer but great
Starobrno (Czech) -> boy love these fuckin czechs! Beautiful
women, great beer!
Faxe (Denmark) -> 1 liter beer can
Carslberg (Denmark)
Köstritzer (Germany) -> similar to Guiness, but sweeter in
taste
Jever (Germany) -> very bitter, love it!
Tsingtao (China) -> similar taste like Efes, due to the rice
aroma
San Miguel (Spain) -> different taste, strange but nice
Corona (Mexico)

I begin with a light breakfast beer, maybe a San Miguel
(hint of going abroad on holiday feeling). I start work and
then around 11 treat myself to a pick-me-up, perhaps
Staropramen or Cobra. Lunchtime means a more robust,
food-beer, like Guinness or some guest ale. Around 3:30 I'm
getting bored so it might be another Cobra to keep me going.
On the train home it's got to be something that travels
well, like Corona. Back at home it's time to really dig in
and enjoy a 6 pack of Stella Artois (the emperor of beers).
Then to bed, and it's just time for a nightcap, something
exotic, maybe a bottle of Windhoek. Then its a 8 hours of
troubling dreams and night sweats until the sweet release of
the breakfast bar. Cheers!

I enjoy a Kilkenny, Guinness is a given. Tsing Tao is what I
drink when I go out for a Chinese meal at my local.

Chimay is great, as are its Low Countries ilk. I have a
couple of Kwak glasses that I cherish dearly (although one
is presently full of layers of coloured sand)

The craft beer scene round this way has boomed lately,
there's loads of interesting brews to be had. Any good ones
up your way?

Only Sleeping Giant. Lake of Bays too I suppose.

I never got to try out Trinity Bellwoods before I left.
Junction's Conductor's is at most LCBOs now. That's kinda
cool considering I spent some time at The Local and a few
other pubs where that beer first appeared.
