Would you rather play an important role in the Star Wars universe or the Star Trek one?

well, if we're to judge this on real-world consequences, i guess it boils down to which fanbase you'd prefer.

No not really. Real-world consequences?
It's just a silly question my friend.
I would go for the Star Wars Universe.
You really try too hard sometimes Epic..

star wars means very little to me, wrong generation i suppose but i've seen every tng several times, grew up on them. quite honestly i don't know what i could add but if i was at gunpoint it'd be the trek every time

i'd really prefer star wars, but star trek fans are more numerous and rabid, so star trek would be much more lucrative. a major bridge role in ST:TNG could see me living off money from con appearances for life.

i really don't know enough of the star wars "universe" to make a proper decision but i always got the impression it was all good and evil, dark and light. tng seemed more nuanced, and i'd serve under picard to hell and back

My instinct is to say Star Wars universe (original trilogy era), but then thinking about it, I'd rather serve aboard the Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk. It's difficult but I am thinking about what would I be doing in the down time, in between space battles. In Star Wars I'd either be in Mos Eisley getting drunk and having bar fights, or in Star Trek I'd be trying to flirt with Uhura.
I love Star Wars (original trilogy), I really do. Maybe if I had the Millennium Falcon. But a lot of it's like the Third World; Jawas, Ewoks, Degobah, ..... imagine being on Hoth. But it would be nice and comfortable, and not to mention a bit groovy and sexy, in the original Star Trek.
I have to plump for Star Trek. I am sorry if that upsets anyone.

My genuine actual dream would be to live with Balok on his spaceship. And maybe take on the role of his puppet.

Star Trek would be an easier life in general, but Star Wars would be more fun.
I think SW having lightsabers and blasters and robot-y robots would be the clincher for me.
How about choosing between Tom Baker-era Dr Who vs Blake's Seven?

I bet I would have lived on Alderaan. Like a schmuck. As it's cheap house prices and I can always go skiing in Hoth for a week, then later a 2 week break to Tatooine every year.

Is the Buck Rogers option open as well? I'd pick that one! A world filled with beautiful women, a peaceful AI government and a simple narrative about good vs. evil.

Any more wiseguys among us? Anyone for Battlestar Galactica (original series (which, yes, I would live in)) or maybe Kenny Everett's Captain Kremmen creation (which, yes, I would live in).

I watched it a couple of days ago with my offpsring, and we both found it very funny. I saw it at the cinema at the time and didn't laugh once. What can I say, I've mellowed and the future generation's inherently smarter.
