obviously somebody will go, record it all, then everyone will be able to hear it.
if not, well then maybe BoC were right and this is the end of the world

""We are looking to get people to travel out of their comfort zones to listen to a radio. Radio has a unique charm about it… the receivers add to the sound… maybe you'll get the odd weird click and pop. I just hope people will come to the forest to listen to it."
ha! in a world where everything has become immediate, some crabby old farts contrive elaborate ways to make things difficult again... ;)
i get it, though. bring a bunch of like-minded people together for a shared experience. people make new friends and it's a memorable evening, etc...
i figure we're in for a glut of events like this, actually. harbinger BOC made everyone go to some arid spot outside of barstow to hear tomorrow's harvest early. some guy i remember from forums did the livefeed, and a lot of pale nerds met face to face for the first time.
seems like a positive and constructive thing as long as it's not done on a whim. it'd be easy to overdo it and tire people out with lame ones.

It's funny, because I did the same thing a few times (once in some woods near my home, another time near a river in Belgium and again in a log cabin in the mountain in the USA) years ago as an 'art thing'.
The difference is, I didn't spoil the concept of it playing to no one (or maybe someone did stumble across it, if they did, they didn't steal the MP3 player or disturb it in any way).
By publicising it before the event occurs, it's no longer exactly secret, is it?
