Good to see/hear you EVOL. Sorry to hear times are hard.
Like you say, the music is a constant that always makes
things better, no matter how shitty the rest of life gets.
It's a cliche, but most bad things in life, are only
transitory and you'll look back and wonder why you stressed
about them so much a couple of years from now.

It helps to remember when X is getting you down,
it's only for now.

thanks ceri, even a simple gesture like that means a lot to
me!

it's kinda funny, how i always seem to find my way back here
whenever i feel i'm reaching my tipping point. whatever this
place is/means, i can't find anywhere else on this planet.
perhaps it's just the perspective that i gain from y'all,
away from the doldrums of everyday life, that brings me back
up? whatever it is, it seems to be kinda like my secret
imaginary world that i can escape to when i get too
overwhelmed with life.

just know that whether or not we've had direct contact, all
of you have left a mark on some random insignificant
person's soul, thousands and thousands of miles away.

/emo

Cheers dude, glad it helped in some small way. It's really
strange, I never think of XLT as 'public' the way most of
the internet it. It's obviously a lot more public in most
ways than, say, Facebook. There's just something about it
(and likely the very long relationship a lot of us have had
with it) that makes it almost feel like a digital 'home'.

It's that feeling of safety and familiarity as well as the
perspective of the old faces that helps, I think.

Its just one of the few places left in the internet boonies
that hasn't been taken over by the oligarchy of fake web 2.0
controlled opposition, big megasites like ehow and
stackoverflow, sucking in all comments for elite scrutiny
and control. Still you know some of the elite's long tail
algorithms are even aimed here. For example, they studied
the humor here scientifically, then released tim & eric
awesome show great job to profit from it until its dry like
everything else they sucked clean. I have helped keep this
place free by repeatedly using the words nigger and fag
which are considered too extremist for advertisers to
associate with (currently.. as we head closer to idiocracy,
that will probably no longer be the case).
