So..

I am thinking about what a person i am. The self help books
i read, recommanded that..And I also think about my feelings
and needs.
I came to realize that my behaviour is not optimal. In that
sense that it makes me unhappy, because i can't fullfill my
needs.
This makes me sad.
I am wondering what i can do to not feel that bad about
myself, because that is obviously the attitud needed to make
a change.
The problem is, I am pretty much a loser, so i have nothing
to boost my self esteem a bit.
I also have no friends i could look for to support myself in
this difficult time, only self help books.
My thoughts are occupied with myself, and I dunno where this
will lead to.

"my behavior is not optimal" -- good lucking finding a fully
optimized human anywhere. but, the better ones do aim to
improve constantly.

"i am pretty much a loser" -- by your definition, or
society's? it's a healthy thing to identify dysfunction
within yourself and tackle it, but it's very UNhealthy to
try and toe the line of what society regards as a "winner."
people always show their best side on their facebook page
and conveniently leave out the pathetic moments that every
human being has.

by society's standards, i'd say i am a loser. i don't make
much money, i don't have many friends; i just stay at home
in my workshop all day, building things and playing with 80s
audio/video equipment. i have some wistful moments where i
tell myself i should get out more, but when i do so i
quickly remember why i stayed home in the first place:
people are petty idiots, and the "winners" of society are
just as unhappy as most of the "losers," if not moreso.

this site is pretty good

Do you have family that you are close with? do you
communicate your struggles with them?

Well i compare myself to the people around me, who have the
same background. And of course to my parents.
All in all pretty avarage people, but i still think i could
have it a lot better if i where to change just a bit of my
habits.
The organization of my everyday life is boring and
tiresome.
I am asking myself how i could bring myself to do the things
i have to do.

You need other people to know who you are, it may sound
stupid but others are the only mirror you can get for your
self. Because without other people it's too easy to mistake
who you are for who you would like to be.

About your self-esteem, can't you find anything you're good
at? Or simply better than the average?

if he were mistaking who he is for who he'd like to be, i
doubt he'd be so down on himself. those with an excess of
spleen are quite harsh on themselves.

it's a huge mistake to compare yourself to others and use it
as a metric to decide whether or not you should be happy. if
you're happy, you just are, and you shouldn't need some
external standard for reference.

if you are that hard-up for some social contact, look up
interest groups in your area. join a D&D game or something,
chances are you'll run into a few people on your level. and
making a friendship throw is an easier roll of the d20 when
they're on your level

"...making a friendship throw is an easier roll of the d20

XLT Gold right thur.

Yes Monoid, EpicMegatrax is right, you're probably going to
find more people you can connect with amongst the 'losers'
(and I mean that in no way shape or form in a disparaging
way) than with those that society calls "winners".

No, i don't fit in anywhere. Nor do I have the strong urge
to belong to a certain crowd. Bassicly I live alone.

stop basing your self esteem on what you think people want
you to do. just fucking do as you want, fuck people who
don't want to be a part of your life. other people are
overrated, fitting in just to fit in is pointless.

just go out and DO! you want to know how to do the things
you have to do? there's no secret, you just have to step
outside of your sphere of comfort and do it!

objects are far more attracted to an object in motion than a
sad little object trying to appear attractive to other
objects.

or just kill yourself. because if you don't actually do
anything, you're a waste of oxygen and resources.

I think he uncounsciously wants to be a loser who doesn't
fit anywhere.

Uh what? Oh no seriously, i was just asking myself where i
am not satisfied in my life, and how much that is the fault
of myself.
Well of course lazyness plays a role in this.
