England with a big chance this year. Everyone
really happy with the manager situation. I'll spare you a
long and very boring rant.

England always seems to go with a big chance... Euro, world
cups... There's so much potential for success, and money to
make it happen. It never happens though!!!

Now Hodgson...
From Liverpool, to West Brom.... To England?!
How did the FA decide that, i wonder

Louis Walsh, hair gel, horrid '80s future clobber, autotune,
revolting dance moves, cheesy eurodance-y music and the
Jedward Paradox. I think this could be a winner.

we'll see about that. Greece has a very mediocre team, even
more so than in 2004. And Poland's Lewandowski is in
excellent form.

How boring! I can understand you not liking football but
with tv you have a choice as to what you want to watch.
There's many interesting things on telly. It's not all about
relaxing watching bullshit on the box, you can learn tons. I
always find people who don't watch tv at all to be odd.
Often also they get off from being 'different'. I'd much
rather watch a documentary than post on message boards.

Points: 19368 Status: Lurker | Followup to RussellDust: #02435460

if I want to watch anything I can watch it on the internet.
whatever and whenever I want. believe me i've learnt and
discovered more even on youtube. no adverts, no boring tv
hosts - just the content I want. and why should I pay extra
for cable tv packets when I'm already paying for the
internet ? traditional tv is really a dead thing to me.

already dusted off and playing loud in the other room

now i mostly work at a computer i find tv more relaxing
(though i hate adverts too, but the internet is getting
worse in this respect)

i expect germany, netherlands or france to win. boring
predictions i know.

germany is gonna blow out early in this one i think,
maybe first round and i would damn well appreciate it :)
while the past cups created a nice atmosphere on the streets
with lots of public viewing and mostly happy fans over here
i just cant stand the flagporn no more and wouldnt mind just
a lil setback.

The tv you seem to be talking about does seem terrible. I
zap adverts. BBC has none (BBC4 is wonderful) which is nice.
I don't care for boring hosts either of course.

They're big favourites. But i think this tournament is going
to be really open. Surprises are often the case with the
Euro.

hehe my predictions were correct up to now... 1-0 for poland
with Lewandowski scoring the opener. :P

those 2 public channels don't have ads in-between films - so
we often choose those if we want to watch a film
un-interrupted with my lady. and all films broadcast on
polish tv, either public or commercial: are still un-dubbed,
you can hear the original sound plus the guy reading the
dialogue list (how's that called in english? i forgot).
that's still unique compared to our neighbours, Germany and
Czech Rep. : their films on TV have been dubbed for a long
time. It's annoying but sometimes funny, if you watch
X-Files on Czech TV and chuckle at Mulder speaking Czech.

1:1 !! Go, Greece !

Chihiro how do you feel now (Greece might have a chance to
win, Polish team is known for good beginnings and bad
endings)

managed to come back. This makes for a nice game now. GO

If it wasn't for you/mum and maybe the nice islands and
beaches i wouldn't ever go back to Greece. I'm beginning to
really dislike Greece and (some of) it's people. :/
