...out soon?
how can they remaster saw85-95 again, they didn't even have
the master the first time!

saw
classics
actually it doesnt say that they remastered classics.
maybe because there's no point to any of it.

the original mastering was done by R&S from cassette source
by a random engineer. the subsequent reissues have been
remastered by other random engineers. I doubt Aphex has been
involved in any of the these processes beyond the original
recording, being on R&S and that.

They like milking his stuff.

you cannot blame them for milking an album like this one & i
guess that running a label in 2011 must not be the easiest
thing so. but i blame them for the cover art = where is the
aphex logo ?!!
i may have a cdr version of it, i still have the logo on the
cover

changing the cover was just wrong. is the album by ferrari
now, or R&S, rather than Aphex?

R&S Records posted a photo of the original DAT a while back
on their twitter.

For a fan base that apparently doesn't actually pay for his
music it's interesting how they have paid for many of his
same products several times over.

it's the same as the 2008 remaster.

so it's a cash cow.

after un critically listening to that remaster, going
strictly on hipster emotions, I judged it redundant

as much as i like r&s records, there's something to be said
about their business ethic.

on the other hand, keeping shit in print is a good thing for
all you new idm-lovin' kids.

they should probably have done a nice-price thing with all
these new repackaged oldies though

It's nice to have copies floating around still. Nothing
worse than wanting a record which no-one wants to sell.
I've no idea if that applies here though. Anecdotally I
haven't sold my vinyl.

Would I be correct in assuming some of the money makes it
way back to AFX?
That's how this malarky works isn't it?
