External hard drive stolen (along with nearly everything
else), back up DVDs missing, I've lost all the music I've
written.

If you have mp3s labeled Indeksical/Indexical/Moon Base
Seven could you please upload them somewhere and post a
link. It would make my fucking life I tell you.

Thanks guys!

I was pretty much moving all my stuff from my current digs
down to my parents, as I'm visiting for about a month. Some
chancer took my holdall with everything in it somewhere
between York and Birmingham.

Pretty much all of my clothes, my PS3 + games, couple of
pairs of trainers, a coat, some books, some library books, a
folder containing all my MA notes and passport and some
other shit.

Rolling in to town with one pair of pants to my name has
been strangely liberating, disappointed I won't be playing
portal 2 any time soon though.

damn, this landy guy who publicly detroyed all of his
possesions to see if his identity would vanish felt pretty
liberated himself aswell. however must be kind of
devastating to lose all your work :/ not much to do if the
fucking lot is stolen.. only thing that jumps my mind is to
openly call out for the data/hd

Yeah I went straight to the BTP office at Birmingham New
Street when I got off the train. They've basically told me
'good luck, lol'.

In fact they just called me to go over the details of
what was in the bag, where I was sitting etc. They don't
think they're going to find it but they'll keep me updated.

I'm not insured which is, of course, pretty fucking stupid.
All my money for the next few months is going to be spent
refilling my wardrobe. Can't be be fucked with replacing the
rest of the stuff, it's just things. Losing the music,
photos etc. on the HDD is heartbreaking though, I can't even
begin to think about recopying every single CD I own on to
my computer.

That's fucking devastating man, really sorry to hear it. As
you mentioned, material possessions are easily replaceable,
but I know full well how heartbreaking it is to have massive
data loss, especially on music stuff (though thankfully, I
recovered mine and invested proper heavy on a RAID/backup
system). Seriously, close to tears when it happened.

Shitty situation really, not sure you can do much outside of
what you've already tried. I'm sure you've already done it,
but make sure sorting out your passport is the #1 priority.
Last thing you need is identity theft on top of what you've
already gone through!

Shame you didn't have some kind of GPS thingy in your bag,
such as a mobile phone or a tracker in a lappy. It would
have taken them right to it :(

Also, since I have the CD for Moon Base 7, I can rip FLACs
for you if you want? I have the minidisc you sent too,
though I don't have a player to rip them! I can always just
send it back to you if you like?

i recently left my almost new cellphone on the sit of the
underground while reading a coming, stoned, with some weed
for me and my friends on a pocket. it happened that i
ignored the stop where i had to change train cos there were
cops at every agle, so i just put my head in the story, put
the cell between my legs (i've had to take it out of my
pocket cos it was ridicolous, too visible, filled with all
that stuff. i managed to stop thinking about it but i also
cancelled to get down from my head. when i realize, i stand
up immediately and jump of the train, then i went on the
other side, i went back a few stops, changed the train, more
cops there, and on the last train i realized i've left the
phone on the sit. i sweared to god, then i continued
reading.

recordings made on MiniDisc straight back to the computer
via USB.

Ah thanks everyone, you guys are great!

Brisk FLACs would be awesome. Don't worry about the
minidisc, they're all full of random snippets of tracks and
stuff that should be mostly covered by vlari's pack.

If anyone has the two albums off of BIYC, 'Thanks Cunts' and
'[SPAM]' that would be ace. Also looking for 'Wet Love' and
'Ortus' albums and the Midician stuff. All the BIYC EP's I'm
not bothered about, the best tracks are on 'Wet Love' anyway
I think.

Again, thanks a lot chaps.
