Youve all heard the reports, 5 new recordings/cds:
2 field recording cds
1 mfm reworked
2 new pieces

I wanna be the first to say "God I hope this happens".
Discuss.

i'd like to hear it
not necessarily to buy it, he could post some without
selling
like the new brisk album

the mfm reworked for example

like he could make a minisite with games that unlock
tracks.. mmm

Yeah, he'd totally claim that in an interview and then never
do it so ALL his fans will hate him and he can die without
concern over his left behind dear fans.

They will get there, just hold your horses.

haha,
i really like that idea!
the old tunes could finally be background music for levels
and then you gain each of the reworked pieces on
completion.

and concerning the "5 albums",
just who wouldnt wanna see it happen?^^

i dont know why everyone does want a new aphex ?????
obviously pitchfork will give it a good ranking then all the
hipsters will listen to aphex and then to go to a aphex twin
show would be suck so bad!!!! they dont even listen the
music!!!!

when i read the interview i thought the 5 albums story was a
joke...
it is 'tricky dicky' talking and field-recording albums +
remaking of mfm??? dunno, if i were him id have more
interesting things to do than that...

obviously if thats true,
i want the five albums released tomorrow

i wonder why anyone releases their music?
i mean i know why i would, so i could play it off vinyl, but
i wonder what the other reasons are... to make money? to get
publicity? critical acclaim? acceptance from your peers? to
outwit the opposition. try to be the best? to make mum & dad
proud? to get gigs? to share with friends? i wonder how
these reasons change for an individual as time passes and
things happen...

I'm pretty sure he's going to release something special
that's priced enormously high on warp to pleasure his fans.

I hope it happens too. Artists should release as much as
they can, of what they judge worthy. It is often good for
them.

When he dies, Warp will release everything off his HDD, for
99p a track?

offline Tractern from Brighton (United Kingdom) on 2010-11-26 01:43 [#02399331]
Points: 4210 Status: Regular | Show recordbag

maybe not, cos he threw the key to his safe into one of the
cornish oceans... (and putted the HDDs in the safe).

But, but, then maybe Warp does a break-in on the safe! :O

i'm pretty curious about the "field recordings" one because
loads of truly strong musicians have been working in this
area so far. if Afx would be as good in the esoteric area
(concrete stuff) he was in the analogue/synths/old drum
machine world (analords), i'd love to hear that. there are
loads of musicians who put out cdr or tapes at the moment :
i'm sure they're not making much cash out of it but its
still more classey than selling mp3s...

like to hear that too, i had a dream of him collecting
sounds
5 years ago, after i went for a walk at night in winter and

throwing stones on an iced pond, which sounded very nice.
