hi gingaling/cygnus

yes i think so, but there's a lot of diversity

i'm not referring to particular episodes since i don't know
any, i've only heard that once landed, they hold you with
some kind of declaration/questionnaire that takes hours to
fill, and that there are psyco questions on it

hmmm... shennanigans....

encountered an art structure which vibrated at a
continuously changing frequency. a harmonium player, a
digeridoo player, and a tuvan throat singer each came it an
jammed along with the frequency.

leaned against a stack of subwoofers on four hits of acid
and told the universe i no longer needed anything from it.

ate sushi off of topless ladies with perfect tiny tits.

gave a recently out-of-the-closet boy his first kiss (just a
peck, for a menthol cigarette while on some of the best
molly i've ever had)

got frightfully scared of the enormous crowd at infected
mushroom (same night) and instead watched the show from a 50
foot platform next to a flamethrower.

more?

you bastard!!! ahh i read a magazine article on burning man
back in 1999 when i was a nipper and its been on my mind
ever since!

mo, when ur in transit to the states you have to fill out a
'green card' or something like, basically if your clear of
any convictions etc you should be fine. Ive been told people
just lie and get away with it each, but ive also heard of
people gettin pulled up and made to pay for their ticket
home befor theyve even got thru US customs and theyve only
had minor drugs offences.

cygnus if I came in thru mexico I'd then have to jump the
border, and be on the run as an illegal thru the states,
hang out at a crazy festival and then break back into mexico
or canada to get home. If money was no object and i could
afford to bail myself out its an adventure I'd be up for
doin. but unfortunately, i got a feeling i'll never set foot
in the land of the free....

not gone yet. i found out about it 2 years ago and have fear
of going. it's in the middle of the desert in nevada and i
hate hot weather map of where it is (middle of nowhere!)

going next year for sure though for the experience,, im
feeling drawn to do it even though im scared. definitely
seems like some xltronic members should come too and
contextually it'd be a great place for us to meet up! music,
art,survival. who's down?

is it like other festivals? do you have to pay? or do you
just rock up and contribute something?

I don't like the heat either, i think taking acid would be a
bit too much for me though, maybe some mushrooms

burning man is a pretty serious endeavor. yes, you do pay
for a ticket, which can range anywhere from $140 for
student/low income tickets to $360 at the door. but you also
have to ensure you bring all your own water, food, shelter,
and anything else you think you'll need to survive in the
desert for a week. but it blows other festies away.

for example coachella is a $360 ticket for three days, of
which you only get to attend for a maximum of 12 hours per
day. burning man is a week long, and it literally never
stops. you just have to get used to sleeping with the sun up
in a boiling hot tent with three or four rave camps going on
around you.

it's the ultimate mashup affair and one of my favorite
activities is going around trying to guess all the different
tracks you're hearing at any given time.

acid is by far the best bm drug, well next to copious
amounts of ganja. that and having ungodly amounts of nitrous
for getting through dust storms. i couldn't imagine doing
mushrooms there - i am far too likely to panic and suddenly
require things that aren't, well, so fucking insane and
potentially overwhelming.

but all of that is secondary to the pure pleasure you can
experience here, drug-induced or not. it's a purely
hedonistic society, one in which judgment is the last thing
one may pass (one of the first being gas) and you really
learn what it means to be a human being. no 9-5 bullshit, no
hang ups about having not enough money, it's a truly unique
place which is built just for you to have a fucking great
time.

I suppose that's a fair enough price considering it's a 7
day event, you would need a allot of water and food though,
did it stay hot at night, or did the temperature drop?

after seeing the videos on youtube, i knew i would have to
experienced it for myself, i like the idea of just
expressing yourself anyway you want without judgment, i
really dig that allot man, cus where i live it's fucking
dull

looks way better than anything i have ever seen before

once the sun goes down, it get's a little bit cooler, but
since that also marks the time when you go from wandering
checking out art to dancing your face off at any one of the
amazing sound camps (the do lab [la] & el circo [sf]'s
simpler times theme camp had one of the most incredible
sound systems i have ever heard) you really don't notice.
from around 5-7 am or so it does get quite cold, and it ends
up being the optimal time for sleep, although the more hXc
of us go past that (i saw the sun rise every day but two).

yeah, the price is good, but you end up spending far more on
supplies for the week. you just gotta keep buying up things
gradually as the year goes on and remember to tell yourself
that after all the cash you're spending on food for the next
week you won't be touching your bank account that entire
period.

but, as one quickly learns, any dollar amount is straight up
worth it to be a temporary resident of the coolest city on
earth.

me and a couple friends are even considering quitting our
jobs next summer and becoming part of the black rock city
department of public works (dpw). they are the people who
are out in the desert two months before hand, building the
infrastructure of the city, as well as the man himself.
seriously fucking hardcore folks.

here's a link to my public photo album on fb. it's mostly
just pics of me and my friends, not the art, but it can give
you a lil peek. the camera really doesn't come out often, it
would almost feel odd taking photos of the art - it's so
contained within the experience, trying to bring it outside
of burning man almost feels incomplete.

dust-punk 4 lyfe.

we should create the xltronic friendship space! :D

the easier thing would be an electronic-acid session,
but id like to make something more interesting and
original,
dunno what, but still lots of time to think about it!
