I must admit, I love a good pop song... I really like Phil
Collins stuff sometimes... anyways, here we go...

One More Night - Phil Collins... it's really a gorgeous song
imo...

End of the Innocence, Boys of Summer - Don Henley... very
nostalgic

The Way it Is - Bruce Hornsby

yeah, I love 80's pop so much... it reminds me of better and
simpler times back in the 80's when I was a kid listening to
my brothers music and stuff...

God dammit, there are to many of these wierd Canadians on
this mb :)

I frankly dont understand people like you Funkmaster! You
keep moaning about agressive music like punk rock to be
shitty and then you glorify a non-talentled and completely
awful musician like Phil Collins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you got no pride man?! Please stop this nonsense and
get a sex-change operation you sissy!!

Addi b has spoken

The Beatles. Pop as art, the guys were perfect.

I HATE happy music... 99.9999% of the stuff I listen to is
dark and evil... but I love hearing Here Comes the Sun and
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds and Hey Jude. I don't know
why.

nelly furtado isn't so bad...some of her songs seem quite
drum'n'bassy...the perfect pop song is Music by Madonna

offline TrevorGod from Toronto (Canada) on 2002-03-31 14:25 [#00151906]

Nelly Fertado bugs the shit outa me. I put her in the same
catagory os Alanis. ughh. Pop music I do like though would
be:

-Jamiroquai (if thats pop)
-Weezer (older stuff like blue and pinkerton)
-The Strokes
-Kylie Minogue
-The Beatles
-The Chemical Brothers (their older stuff. But I guess that
was before they were popular)
-Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds (don't know if this is pop)
-Sonic Youth (don't know if this is pop but everyone has at
least heard of them. Well maybe Britney hasn't.)
-Leonard Cohen
-Portishead

that is all.

The Cardigans
Jamiroquai

Funkmaster, you HAVE to check out DJ Z-Trip's 'Uneasy
Listening'. Its lots shitty 80's cheesy with hip hop beats
behind it all, its a great mix.

FUNKMASTER< GET IT!

If Cardigans didn't have Nina Person as a lead singer they
would suck!!
She has a nice voice but the songs are crappy.
Ninas solo projects are much more interesting.
I love a song called "the bluest eyes in texas" that was on
the soundtrack to Boys Don't Cry.
A very beautiful song. Go and download it now folks!!!

I like Nina Person a lot. I was going to buy her side
project A Camp the other day but I already had 3 CD's and I
couldn't really afford to get any more. If it's still there
next time I go back (tommorow) I'll pick it up.

FUnkmaster_ do you also like genisis, or just phills solo
work? ALso, more often than not when i do enjoy a pop song
it is becuase of the beat it has...if the beat is well
constucted i can tolerate it, usually i just consider the
beat and not the lyrics... becuase after all it is pop and
with the acception of a few artist, pop lyrics ususally dont
have much depth.

well I'm not really a big fan of the phil collins Genesis,
but some of it is alright... the Peter Gabriel Genesis is
where it's at, but that's not pop... as far as pop is
concerned I think Phil Collins is really really good, but
again, it is pop... Phil is an awesome drummer, but it seems
he uses damn drum machines an awful lot...
