why would anyone be interested in buying an album of music
that a bunch of strangers voted for?

why would anyone want to heard 20 sounds you've likely
listened to death anyway? I can't imagine they're
anticipating anyone buying this. . . maybe if they make it a
free download? They should just do what they did for the
10th anniversary again. . . some new original music by the
people we like please. . .

getting random votes to choose an album to represent warp is
very very poor idea

vote on a xlt poll or something ok

but an anniversary album on a record label
ptschh

"Cut the crap and just re-release Pioneers of the Hypnotic
Groove, I say." that is so true

Jeesh there is some amount of shit in that top 10. Vote for
the old classics like Balil (Black Dog Productions) - 3/4
Heart.

Who wants an X-Factor style album? They should make a
personalized album for anyone that wants one. It'd be great
for the buyer, lovely for e-bay sales and stop a crappy vote
represent what people in the future will download as 'Warp'
music.

This is great. I'm excited to see the results. However, it
is really hard for me to narrow my list down to just 10.
There are so many great warp tracks. I'll gonna have to
think about this for awhile.

exactly. what a bunch of pricks. art is all about snobbery.
and i'm sure you won't gain at all from this in any monetary
value by supporting our point of view.

43. Balil - 3/4 Heart
54. Balil - Parasight

A disgrace!!!

The user-chosen CD is gonna be so boring if the current
charts are anything to go by. Not that they're bad tracks,
but they're just so obvious and everyone has heard them a
million times before. Lets hope Steve Becket can do better.

I've voted, but it's unlikely the tracks i've chosen will
make the compilation. Oh well, at least Eutow and Let Me Be
Me are in the top 10.

Can't really argue with Windowlicker, it's an absolute
classic. But, yeah, some to that top 20 are *SO* obvious.
Interested to see how it finishes up though, I wonder if any
of the Artificial Intelligence series will make it?

27. The Black Dog - Psycosyin
37. Black Dog Productions - 3/4 Heart
50. Balil - Parasight.

Un-f*cking-believable. Battles has a track at number 3 and
Luke Vibert's 'I Love Acid' is at number 6. I mean come
on!!!

forget about all this populist voting bullshit.
just release several free compilations with unsigned artists
and then depending on the feedback, some would get signed in
order to revamp Warp.

do you remember when warp planned on releasing a cd of
listener remixes? swept that well under the carpet when it
all went crap. . . prolly had an influence on them closing
warp-comm.

/end speculation

That's probably because the listeners who submitted remixes
were all people like the 'artists' who post their own music
here and on WATMM. In other words, utter wank.

lupus yonderboy, that would have been incredible....
these sites are mostly garbage, but there are some
incredible musicians on: em411, idmforums, (forget watmm,
hah), here of course, not to mention the hundreds in the
demoscene. Oh and yours truly. I've a already made a decent
Drexciya remix nobody gave a shit about.
Batman Bill Burroughs I suggest you get off the bat phone to
Commissioner Gordon and lay of the acid.
